Had this kit for a while didn't get to use it until the other day everything in case used for micking up drums with no hassle easy use doing drum sound check was a breeze set mic gains and off I was getting a solid drum sound. This package is the ULTIMATE bargain when it comes to drum kit microphones. And here is why:
Let's start with the SM57s themselves. They are currently running for about $100 each. SM57s have been THE music industry standard for, literally, decades. They are suitable for both studio work and live performances.
This package includes three (3) of the Shure SM57s. There is $300 right there.
The DMK57-52 also includes the Shure Beta 52A which has been specifically designed for bass/kick drum amplification and recording. The Beta 52A is currently priced at $190.
So, we have $490 worth of microphones for $400. It's like getting one of the SM57s for free!
This is all if you go with the microphone-only package. If you order the $409 deal with cables and a small boom mic stand it gets even BETTER!
The package with cables includes four (4) XLR 3-pin cables which are about $13 - $15 each ($46 total) and an On-Stage MS7411B tripod boom stand for the kick drum mic. This is a $45 stand. So for $10 more, you get $96 worth of cables and a stand.
Lastly, both packages (cables included and mics only) come with three (3) Shure A56D mounts for the SM57s. These drum mounts are $45 each for a grand total of $135 in mounts.
I'm just afraid that American Musical Supply is going to figure out what a FANTASTIC deal the package is and stop selling them.
If you are thinking about micing your drum kit, pull the trigger on this Shure DMK57-52 package and get the cables and stand option. I thought about it for weeks before deciding to buy and I am ecstatic that I did!

This is an amazing little package. At this price point nothing beats it. Theres a reason why many studios choose these mics for many reasons. The sm57 is great for guitars as well and the beta 52 is great for bass as well. This is an absolute killer package everyone who records or does ljve sound needs in their arsenal. Its the all around workhorse

This is my first drum mic kit for home studio recording. I’ve been using Shure SM58 for vocals since day one and I couldn’t be more happier. Now that I have the Shure DMK5752, not only that I can use it for micing my drum kit, I can always use the SM57 for amps and other instruments. It’s very sturdy and well built as we all know it. I use these for smaller band set ups. The mics are the quality you would expect from Shure and they sound great. The case is durable and offers great protection. I also have the 7 piece kit but we end up using this great unit most of the time. The price is affordable for quality this good.

This is a really good way to start putting together a nice mic collection. Perfect for close miking drums, and the mounts are solid and very easy to use - they don't move around like some others. Mics are very high quality - SM57s really can be used for anything, and the kick mic sounds great as well. Not necessarily a 100% complete mic kit for drums, but you'll be well on your way to being there with this kit. It's a great value as well.

QUALITY:
It's a SHURE thing! I've used this kit on several different drum kits, and I've been able to capture the best in each kit with this mic setup!!!
FEATURES:
The SM-57's are a given!!! The 5Khz frequency boost makes it ideal for micing snares, toms, and even cymbals! I've used one on a hi-hat before and got a great, lively response! The Beta 52 captures the responsiveness of the low-end in the kick every single time!!!
EASE OF USE:
Point, plug, record, and play!!! Pretty much have the mics pointed at the desired source.
VALUE:
Great price for great mics!!! I'm considering buying another kit because I can never have too many SM 57's and the Beta 52 works great for micing bass amps too!!!
SOUND:
Great sound!!! These mics have given me the desired sounds I wish to capture at each recording session. I could not ask for anything more!
