good road case
Quality:
I've owned several SKB bass guitar cases, so I was confident purchasing this rack case. So far, I'm impressed. We'll have to see how it holds up.
Features:
SKB molded case. Quality components.
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. Rack screws are included. Just screw in the rack device and it is secured into place. Tough unit -- I accidentally dropped it in the parking lot where I rehearse. After swearing and yelling, i noticed there wasn't a dent or ding one on the case. Equipment inside was fine. This thing is BIG. In fact, a good bit deeper than what I was expecting. This thing is as big as one of my bass amp cabinets!
Sound:
Well, when it hit the parking lot pavement, it made a kind of hollow thud sound. ;-)
Value:
This is a quality unit. I wouldn't say that it is an extraordinary value though. I paid pretty much what I expected to pay for this unit.

Easy to Carry
Quality:
Made plenty well for the amount and weight of gear you're likely to carry in a 4RU rack like this. I didn't have trouble with the rubber feet as one reviewer did, but I'm not touring with this either.
Features:
This is the easiest-to-carry rack of this size (4RU) I have. Ergonomics of the handles are just perfect for me.
Ease of Use:
Having rack screws included with it was very nice. Didn't have to go looking for my stash of screws!
Sound:
Not applicable, but I suppose you could use it for a drum practice pad if desperate. :)
Value:
Very good value, and quite competitive. Was pleasantly surprised by the price when I ordered.

Excellent, Well Made Rack, But............
Quality:
Overall excellent quality but I had to knock it down for the "shock-proof" feet. These are nothing more then 1" diameter rubber feet you can buy at any Wal-Mart, Sears, etc. The method of attachment is pretty lame. They are screwed into the molded shell with #6 x 1/2" screws. Three of the feet fell of while pulling the case out of the box. Take my advice and attach them with Gorilla glue and #8 x 3/4" screws before you load it up with gear.
Features:
This rack will do an excellent job of protecting your equipment as long as you're not tossing it out of an airplane. The latches are tight and secure. I've read other reviews that stated the latches were loose. Sounds like they got one that should have been sent back.
Ease of Use:
Fill it with amps, a power conditioner and a few effects and your ready to rock. The molded plastic around the rails makes it a little tough to get some gear mounted especially if you are using isolation tabs. Just plan on fighting with it a bit.
Sound:
Electrons flow from your mixer through the effects and amps in the rack and on to your speakers. Sounds great if you have good stuff in there.
Value:
The price is in line with other 12 space racks fron Gator, etc. However I'm disappointed in SKB for not including the rear rails. I can't beleive the bean-counters had their say and eliminated such an essential part of an amp rack. The rails are easy enough to get but most of the prices I've seen are way out of line. The best price I could find is $39.99 at CasesToGo. The other reason I only gave it 3 Stars for Value is explained in the Quality Section of the review.

SKB Roto Rack is OK, just ok.
Quality:
I don't feel like this rack is quite as good quality as the older models, but it does still protect gear really well. For some reason they left off the rear rails on these racks. I don't need them, but I still feel a little ripped off by not having them. Some of the latches on the covers seem a little looser than I like.
Features:
With both the front and rear covers on, this thing feels secure. I don't really worry about my gear.
Ease of Use:
Easy. Put stuff in, covers on and off.
