Aside from looking great, it sounds amazing from low to high tunings, and maintains sensitivity throughout the tuning range. It also PROJECTS when you need it to, cutting through any mix.

Killer Snare!

Product Review
This snare is truly a class act. It really shines in the lower end tuning ranges so if you like a thick beefy back beat this is your snare. It also does really well in the upper mid tension range. Great crack but with a good woody body. Very well made and all components are superb quality. Throw off is nice and smooth and stays engaged. Great snare drum to add to any arsenal.

This snare works great in the low swampy range, has a good midrange crack and pops when cranked up in the high range. Highly recommend, especially for the price.

I am a 13 year old drummer. I use my snare for church. The sound is awesome! I got it for my 13th birthday. I will play it when church starts back. I miss going to church. Thank you for making awesome instruments.

I also on the Tama SLP 14 x 8 metal snare and until purchasing this product I thought that was the best snare I had ever owned. This walnut snare has more tone and a deeper crack than even the metal snare does. I highly recommend the snare if you are a Tama fan. My set is a seven piece, superstar maple series. The snare complements that set to a T

Can't Praise It Enough

Product Review
Everything Tama promotes about this snare drum is true, and that's only the beginning. I've been drumming for over 50 years, still a gigging professional. Easiest to tune, easiest on my hands and best sounding snare drum I ever played.
Drum arrived about one hour before my gig. Touched up tuning a little and played 4 hour gig. Held tuning perfectly all night. This is a very loud band but it was so easy for me to cut through on 2 and 4. Wow, what a powerful crack! But it also responded beautifully when I went from a soft press roll to a big open roll. I could shape every fill with dynamic nuances my maple and metal shell snare drums don't articulate. Tama has a winner here: the walnut shell produces a beautiful tone and powerhouse rimshots feel effortless.
The finish is perfect and the overall craftsmanship is as good as you get with a $1000 drum. Plus AMS throws in a nice Tama bag, free of charge.
Have I praised the SLP G Walnut snare drum enough? Get one, you'll love it, too.

Another PHENOMENAL SNARE DRUM FROM THE TAMA SLP line of snare drums. This is my 9th SLP Tama snare drum and this has a production of 2 & 4 that makes the most non-rhythmic individual dance!
