Great Little Machine!!
Quality:
I only had this item for a short time, but has worked Great! The item is built well and seems like it could stand a lot of abuse, just well built!!
Features:
It has a lot of features. Like a big recorder, just shrinked down! The best thing, is the SD Card and Wave Files. You just take your music and turn it into a wave file, you can pull the card out stick it in the computer and there is the wave file....
Ease of Use:
This item is easy to use, after you study the book and learn. Got to try all the features a few times and it comes easier!
Sound:
Great, Clear, Crisp, No Digital Sound overlaying the Recordings!
Reliability:
I've had it for several months and it has gone well so far and nothing has happen that shouldn't.
Overall:
4 Track Recorders (Remember the Tape 4-Track Recorders) The Item sounds Great. It is priced lower than other recorders, but well worth it. Tascam has always been a Great Company and Great Sound from their Products! This item is great to sit around and record ideas, live music, Etc. Just play with it to get a feel for it. I wish teh display would light up for a few seconds!!

It seems to be made well. I'm happy with it's durability so far (not flimsy at all or cheaply made)!
Features:
Size! External Mini Speakers; because the way it comes...you have to use headphones to hear what it was that you just recorded...hum*#!!

Quite a task to be sure!
Sound:
Okay, I guess. Nothing fancy (and I'm usind Bose $350.00 headsets).
Reliability:
To new to give an honest opinion.
Overall:
I probably could have done better with a recorder much easier to use - might have to spend a few extra bucks, but it would be worth it (especially for a semi-novice like myself...though I have been a musician for nearly 30 years now (guitarist).

Right out of the box and recording is fast and easy

Super Sound, it's just missing reverb to be a 10.
Reliability:
I just had it a few weeks but put a lot of time and so far, so good.
Overall:
If you have ever used a recorder than this is a smap.

Great Sound for Cheap
Features:
The built in mic's are outstanding. Get a bigger SD card first thing. unless your doing one song at a time.
works great for live performances. Only draw back I've noticed is the menu is not backlit
Ease of Use:
Fairly easy to use, but you need to read the manual as you go thru it for the first time or two.
Sound:
It will sound as good as you are. No better No worse.
Reliability:
1 yr and no issues
Overall:
Great little tool for working ideas or demo's. You might pick up an A/C adapter if you use it alot, save the batteries for when you need them.

Very durable! Made "road tough!" All this and you can carry it in the palm of a hand. Amazing!
Features:
Being able to do overdubs is nice, and recording two tracks at a time is certainly a plus. The only feature I would add to it is maybe being able to completely work with a computer to where it can entirely controlled by it with the use of function keys, etc.
Ease of Use:
Soon after I installed the batteries and browsed through the manual, I was able to start recording. Amazing! It holds to its promise to be able to work with a PC. Because it creates WAV files out of my music, I'm able to put it through music editing software and mixers and convert the music to MP3 files and share them via E-Mail. Wow! The manual is written well, not much confusion in the style of writing. The DP-004 can be used indoors and outdoors. And its very durable.
Sound:
Good sound! Just amazing how technology has advanced, and Tascam (Teac Corporation) has leaped upon it to make its products better for musicians.
Reliability:
Have had it for a short time thus far, but I haven't had any problem with it and don't think I will.
Overall:
It's a major "step forward" in compact engineering for recording equipment. Well worth the price!

Anything from Tascam IS very well made, I own a very old cassette unit that has been flawless.

Use The quick start guide & you will be recording as fast as you can read the steps.
Sound:
Good tone going in = Good tone coming out. It's ability to reproduce sound is flawless.
Reliability:
Have only had it 1 week. I see no reason why it should not last for years.
Overall:
The unit is everything it is supposed to be. Has exceeded expectations.
