I bought my first 10L hoping it do my production well. I didn't mess with any settings, just attached the mic n installed a battery. Baaam.... the audio was fantastic! Studio professional quality. I shoot for a cooking channel on YouTube called "Chef Mike". The quality is amazing. Go ck it out for yourself.

Unbelievable. I made money with these recorders before I ever used them. Someone rented them for a film production. Wow! When I finally used them for projects life became easier. Clean recording. Less need for a boom mic holder. Get these recorder NOW!

The DR10L has proven itself invaluable in the time that I've owned it. It's so small and requires so little effort to make sound good, that I simply leave it in my go bag for all all kinds of jobs, and it's proven itself time and time again... everything from needing an extra solo mic for a video of a choir (it recording two separate files at different gain levels simultaneously saved my butt there,) to it being an emergency extra mic for an interview video client that threw an extra on screen person at me the day of the shoot.
Additionally, the audio quality is pretty amazing. I originally bought this intending to swap the included TM-10LB microphone out with a Countryman B6 for better audio quality, but after a few shoots I see no need outside of wanting something a little smaller.
If you're thinking about this mic, just grab it. It's only 200 dollars and will improve your life greatly. I'm actually myself considering swapping out my entire lavaliere setup with a bunch of these instead.

Honestly one of the best purchase I've made this year. I do a lot of video work, and needed lavalier mics that could stay hidden & record good audio. I have had it for a few weeks now and I've impressed with all that went into this product.

I’ve used all kinds of lav mics as I am a wedding videographer. I have several Sennheiser lav mics and they are real quality mics but I have to say, these are really great. I bought these as back up options because I really thought the audio capture could not be anywhere near as good as the expensive Sennheiser set I have. Boy was I surprised. They don’t require a broadcast and receiver type combination, they record directly to an SD card, they are small and what I love is you can get them in black or white. They are really light and I’ve been able to get brides to wear them because they are white, easy to hide and much lighter where I could not talk them into wearing the heavier and less discrete Sennheiser mics. The sound quality is very comparable to what I get from the more expensive wireless mics and they last for hours and hours. I still use my more expensive Sennheiser mics for certain situations but with this mic, I have no worries about channel interference, or having to have an additional way to capture the audio, this unit is all inclusive. Lastly, for what I paid for my 1000 dollar wireless set, I could have 5 of these and never worry about not getting audio from anyone again.

Turn it on and go! This recorder has great quality and is easy to use. There are several setup videos on Youtube. First time I took it in to the field it work perfectly. It also records two tracks in case on clips.

Bought 2 of these recorders to film a wedding video out of recommendation from a YouTube video. The quality that came from these recorders was by far better than I had expected. I was able to mic the groom and officiant and still obtain usable audio from the bride and two other scripture/poem readers. Will be buying more of these recorders very soon!

This is the perfect recorder for wedding films. We use it to mic the groom and officiant. The sound is great and it records two files a high and low for back up. Its auto settings work great and I dont have to worry about it. It has a lock connection so the cables wont come loose.

If you are looking at this item, then you already know what it can do and some possible downsides. My experience has been that it's a great alternative to the more costly and cumbersome wireless units, particularly if you are using multiple units to wire multiple people at an event or on set. The DR-10L sounds great and can record for over 7 hours, depending on the size of your micro SD card. The controls are very simple and easy to use while out in the field. The downside to units like this is that you can not monitor them while they are in use on the talent, so if there is a glitch in recording you may be in big trouble. But I never had that happen. The DR-10L is able to record two tracks simultaneously, so you'll always have a safety track recorded at a lower level to prevent distortion when someone suddenly yells too loud. When shooting, I like to record talent with the DR-10L - it helps the shoot go very, very smooth.
