Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's well made and if taken care of, I'm sure it will last for years to come!
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The best feature to me is the USB connection allowing 16 simultanious tracks to be recorded. I have a small project studio so I've not recorded past 5 tracks at once but it worked flawlessly. I would only add some more literature with regards to use with popular audio software if possible.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Experience with any mixing console will obviously help anyone understand the versatility of this marvelous product. I had it connected to my quad core 64 bit Windows 7 machine in minutes after downloading the latest drivers from Tascam. It worked flawlessly and the sound is phenomimal ! Quiet and clear. It's awesome. The manual is helpful from an analog mixing perspective but leaves little information with regards to using the mixer with your computer but it is understandable considering the number of audio software programs available.
Sound
How is its Tone?
Superb. Quiet operation across the board...pun intended.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It's built well and was more than what I expected with regards to it's plastic housing and fader references I've read. It's quality for the cost.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I love it. It does what my Delta 1010 does (minus some features of course) and is compatible with my new PC due to the USB 2.0 interface. It did take me a little time to understand how it works as a sound card/mixer in conjunction with Adobe Audition 3.0 due to my experience with my Delta. I soon discovered that your input channels are active for monitoring when the arm for record button is selected in adobe and you do not need either the sub nor stereo buttons pressed on the mixer to monitor the inputs. To monitor tracks recorded and record new you only press the sub button (considering your output connections in the back of the mixer) on the return channel and your good to go!
