Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
No frills but beautifully made. I've has this guitar for just over a year and have put it through its paces. It is my first performance guitar. I had plans to upgrade...but just don't see the need to.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
In just over a year of hard use, it has NEVER let me down. This is a true workhorse!
General
Your general opinion of this product.
Gee....If this is not THE perfect entry-level performance guitar, then it is pretty close!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I'm a big guy, so it definitely does not feel heavy. My hands are not overly large, fingers are not long but are big....but I have no problems on the fretboard. It lets me go as fast as I can with no problem. Controls are conveniently placed. I use John Pearse strings. Just a personal preference.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Unplugged, it has a "shiny" mellowness that just right for my ears. Plug it in, and you can make it sound however you want.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Flawless finish right out of the box. Still looks great...Still feels great.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I made few adjustments...It was great right out of the box!

How was the action out of the box?
Great action up and down the neck. I like the cutaway and I don't think it hinders the sound.

Overall fit and finsh is very good except for the fret overlap which is a little rough when you run your hand down the neck. Binding on the neck would probably remedy this problem.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Only had this guitar for a few months. It stays in tune pretty well. Remember to unplug your guitar. I have forgotten to do this at times and have had to replace a few batteries.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm pleased with this product so far. I changed the elixr strings for Martin Marquis's. Much better sound.

This is the good part about this Taylor. Good feel and I like the dreadnought size.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The treble is way too bright for my tastes. Bare in mind I am used to playing a Martin D28 with a more balanced and booming sound. The Taylor just can't compete with the Martin sound.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish was perfect out of the box. Zero complaints here.
