Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's much heavier than my two Martins, and I've had it go out of tune a couple times. But overall pretty durable. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Still in great shape after playing it at home and at gigs for over 10 years. General Your general opinion of this product. Overall this guitar has a great sound and look, but the feel of the guitar does not compare to my others. The neck is large and does not fit my hand well. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is probably better suited for larger hands. My hands get sore playing some songs and does not compare to the playability of my other guitars. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone is great. Even with old strings on there, it has that Taylor brightness. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish is the best of my guitarts. And even after 10+ years of playing it, the finish is beautiful (except for a worn spot near the pickguard from playing it so much. Action How was the action out of the box? Don't recall if I had the action adjusted before I brought it home in 2002, but I believe I've had the action adjusted once or twice in 10+ years.
Stop thinking about it and buy a 310ce

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? You cannot compete with Taylor on quality. As with my last Taylor, this is also flawless from the fit of all parts to the great finish. I love the Sitka spruce top which has a lot to do with the tone. Reliability How has it stood up over time? The one thing I have noticed, and I don't know technicly how it happens except thru a well put together product with repect to the fit and finish I mentioned earlier, is that this guitar stays in tune longer than any I have ever known. You can park it and come back and it is "just there" and ready to play. The only exception is when replacing strings and that holds true with any stringed instrument. General Your general opinion of this product. I love this guitar! It is actually my second 310. My daughter tricked me out of my last one and there was no other guitar in this price range I would have rather had so the replacement was easy! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The Taylor is very manageable and just plain feels good in your lap. It is by no means heavy and maybe feels just the opposite. The neck I believe will keep just about anyone happy. Very neutrel shape that will accomidate most players. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? As mentioned, The highs are high along with great lows which I personely love. It's just the sound I like and I found it with this guitar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? My Taylor, and all I have ever seen, has a very even and flawless finish applied with the neck, back and sides being a flatter and darker finish. The top is a high gloss clear finish that compliments the spruce so well. Action How was the action out of the box? I have had to take other guitars in almost right out of the box for some sort of adjustment. Taylor just plain has it figured out. At least at my playing level, my 310 has never been in the shop for anything.
