Taylor Guitars: The Total Package
Quality:
Absolutely. Taylor stands behind their products.
Reliability:
Mine is only six months old. Bob Taylor says these guitars get better with age. I have no doubts about her resume.
Overall:
I've played guitar for 30 years and my Taylor 314ce fits me like a glove. She was perfect right out of the box. I can't believe the comfort, confidence, and sound this guitar offers me. Six months into this relationship, consider me a Taylor fan for life.
Playability and Feel:
Honestly, you won't find a better playing or feeling guitar, unless you can afford a custom build.
Tone:
Perfect.
Unplugged: She's happiest when I spank her hard.
Finish:
Beautiful. Everything "just" fits.

Sound:
This is the best sounding guitar that I have by a long shot. Again my other three are 3 to $400.00 guitars, not even in the same feild.
Reliability:
I have only had it for a little while, so I cannot truely answer this, although I see no reason why it could not last forever as long as I treat it as I should.
Overall:
I was nervous about buying this much guitar, but I could not justify one more "beginner" guitar. I also could not find anything better in this pricerange.
Playability and Feel:
Very fast compared to the others, I have not plugged it in yet. It sounds great when picked, not as good when finger picked this very well could be my skill level as I am new to finger picking
Finish:
wonderful I couldnt stop looking at it. Again this is a huge jump up from your average guitar and when they are side by side it is very visible.
Action:
Very nice out of the box pretty fast action, frets are a little shorter than I have on my others (Samick, Yamaha, and Epiphone)
Skill Level:
Intermediate

Luthier that builds electrics
Quality:
First rate construction. Was glad to see the solid neck, rather than the finger joint necks from earlier Taylors.
Sound:
The mahogany back and sides make this a warm toned monster. The gloss spruce top give this the Taylor sparkle that you would expect on single note leads and finger picking.
Reliability:
Only had it for a couple of weeks, but I would imagine that it will hold up quite well if I continue to keep up with the Oasis humidifier.
Overall:
Very nice American made product.
Playability and Feel:
Plays very nicely with my smaller hands. Very accesible, especially for lead playing. Controls are exactly where they need to be.
Tone:
As stated before, the tone is both mellow due to the mahogany and yet crisp when playing upper register leads. The expression system picks up the signal in three different areas, so most tones are addressed to your set up.
Finish:
Fit and finish is flawless.
Action:
The action was a litle high, but Taylor hooked me up with a luthier (I make electrics, not acoustics)in Boulder that set it up perfectly.
