I have been searching for a guitar that could give me acoustic and electric sound for what seems like forever. I have several electric guitars that had a pickup or electronics that accomplished that but the feel wasn’t right. The most amazing thing about this guitar isn’t just the tones which are all great, it’s the way it feels like an acoustic but also like an electric. It’s hard to explain but I am pretty sure this is the guitar I have been searching for a long time. Truly the best of both worlds.

Since owning this perfectly crafted guitar, I have been able to write and record several songs both acoustic and electric. With each pickup selection you can achieve the best tone possible for any genre of music. With this, playing a live show is a game changer! The light weight style is much easier on the shoulder for those long cover gigs as well!

I love this guitar! I have PRS's and other Taylors, Ovations, but this is my all around favorite. I really love all my guitars, but this one is my go to for just about everything. My other Guitars are jealous! It is light, and well made, which was my original purpose for getting it, but the tones are just sweet as one could wish for. I was worried it might not have that sound I was looking for, but so far the tonal availability is superb. After a few months I have not scratched the surface of all the tones this thing is capable of. And it fits my large hands perfectly, so playing it for long hours, along with its very lightweight, does not produce any discomfort. The neck radius is different than anything else I own, and a small hands player also says it fits him well, for whatever that is worth. Very versatile. Its all bring for gigs, while I do use the other guitars in my collection in the studio.

This is about the most versatile guitar I've ever owned or played. I'm still experimenting with it to see what I can get out of it, but so far it sounds like sky's the limit.
It's a little hollow and uninspiring when unplugged, but for quiet practice or just noodling on the couch you can't beat it.
Plug it in and it's a beast. LP and Strat sounds to lush acoustic guitar. Wonderful, well made instrument up to Taylor's usual standards.

The Taylor T5z is everything you think it should be and more. Playability is great! Tones-Well it's a Taylor, no need to expand on that....There is nothing to complain about,?even the gig Bag is nice(I wish it was the hard-shell case,but...). The Taylor T5z is worth every penny...every penny!!

I ordered this because I perform a lot of acoustic shows, but was raised playing electric guitar (47 years playing). I own several Martins and Taylors but was never comfortable playing a full sized acoustic. I did not expect this to sound as good as my Martin or play as nice as my Les Paul but it does just that! It sounds like a Martin (or Taylor guitar) but feels like a lightweight Les Paul. It is my favorite guitar and one of the nicest feeling guitars I ever owned. Sounds great in a PA system as well as in a Fender Twin. I'd buy this all over again if it was lost or stolen and in fact I may just buy another as a spare on my gigs. GREAT JOB Taylor!!!

I have too many guitars to list and I'd have to say, this is the most versatile guitar I own. Not only does the T5Z have awesome p/u's, and the active Eq'ing is second to none. All of the controls have a wide range of tone. Take a Tele, an Gibson ES335 and a Taylor Acoustic together and you have a T5Z.. BTW, the neck is faster the my Les Paul.

I have played the Custom and the Koa both and find them to be exactly what they say they are Acoustic ? Yes Electric ? Yes. the amplified acoustic quality rivals any full sized acoustic that is plugged in. The Electrified sounds are even better with great controlled feedback and sustain. this is my next purchase... and we are talking in a matter of days - not sometime in the future. so if I win this you better let me know within the next two days!
