Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Quality is excellent - no issues with the unit. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I have had no problems integrating the unit with my rig and no problems since I got it. General Your general opinion of this product. TC makes great effects and this unit is no exception. It's got great sounds, but is a little limited on what it delivers. The interface for editing patches is fairly simple. It's also quite expensive. For $500, there should be a larger selection of effects. Comparing it to a Line6 PodXT Live - the Pod has many, many more effects (including cabinet models, distortions, etc) for a lot less. That said, the effects that are included are pretty spectacular. The MIDI implementation is excellent. My guitar rig includes a full MIDI pedalboard with two CC pedals, which I use to control effects mix and whatnot. Tap tempo is extremely easy to set up, and you can assign up to four CCs to modulate practically any parameter in the effects chain. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Controls are pretty simple. Editing modules of the presets is simple. Setting up MIDI continuous controllers took some getting used to but is dead simple once you understand the menu structure. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? As stated, the sounds are excellent. It does not suck tone like older digital effects units did - the A/D-D/A converters on this unit seem to be excellent. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I wish it were black like the first one! It's the only non-black unit in my rack. Action How was the action out of the box? n/a

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It looks good, we'll see over time, as I just got it Reliability How has it stood up over time? I don't know since I've only had it for a month or so... General Your general opinion of this product. I had an old Yamaha rack effect processor I bought in Japan in about 1980, and it was about ready to update (very reliable still), and then I saw the TC alternative...it called my arttention immediately and I am very happy with it. It delivers in every area I needed, like ease of use, sound quality, and technology, too bad they don't make all the needed paraphanalia, like midi controller pedal, expression pedal, etc... Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? We're talking about an effect processor here, so N/A except for the controls, which yes, they are easy to get to with the midi pedal... Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Again, not a guitar, so it has all the different sounds mentioned here, hot, mellow, thick, thin, and everything else... Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I have it already in an individual rack case, so it'll be well cared for... Action How was the action out of the box? fine, all the settings need a bit of practice, but nice...

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's held up nicely in my rack. The knobs are really delicate, but the unit is solid and sounds are high quality. Reliability How has it stood up over time? So far, Yeah. I haven't had one problem with mine. General Your general opinion of this product. I'm really impressed with mine. It's a full compliment of quality effects AND A Rack Mount Tuner in One! If you're kicking around whether to buy it, go check out the prices on a rack mount tuner as a separate unit and consider the fact that an accurate one is front and center on this unit. Then consider what high quality effects pedals run for. I DO recommend that you put this in a rack, but you'd put your effects pedals in a case or pedal board if you want to protect them, so that's close to an even dollar consideration. The convenience of having preset effects in the rack is great. Another great feature of this is the noise gate. Price individual noise gates and then consider that you have a nice one here. If you run high gain sounds, that's a plus. The reverbs, delays, chorus, flange and other effects are high quality effects. I gave this unit a 4 because there are better ones for twice the price, but it IS a 5 at this price and you can still sound expensive with this. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? As for the controls and Parameter adjustment, that's all easy, but YOU NEED TO READ THE MANUAL and You definitely need to allow a good hour to set up some patches that are unique to your personal needs. It's easy, but you have to find presets that you like, adjust levels & settings of effects in that block to your liking and save it as your numbered patch. Then, you can access it via midi pedals or by turning the knob. If you only use the tuner, gate and reverb, you got more than your money's worth, but there are many more impressive effects here. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? You have a few options as to how this sounds. You can wire it to your effects loop, which is nice or you can run it between your preamp and power amp (depending on your amp rig), and to me, that sounds even better. Your amp's effect level setting, the input/output setting of the G Major and its internal effects parameter adjustments all allow you to fine tune how this sounds in your rig. I don't actually use the delays in this because I have a TC Electronic D TWO that's a high quality, dedicated delay unit that I decided to invest in, but I would be totally happy if I only had access to the G Major delays. TC Electronics just does delays very, very well. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Action How was the action out of the box?
