Subject:Bedridden Beginner Takes This Pad To Physical Therapy!
Quality: A drummer suggested this pad would be light enough for me to use IN BED, as I recovered from shoulder surgery; HE WAS RIGHT! With it placed securely on a laptable, I'm able to exercise my arm, gain practice with repetitive movement and not feel exhausted. Lightweight, economical, sleek and tough, the Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad was easy to keep upright, and is big enough to direct both drumsticks on, for a novice. Without looking silly, I felt quite comfortable as an adult learning basic drumming techniques.
Features: I like the professional, no nonsense color, the lightweight nature of it, though incredibly sturdy!
Sound: The tone is quiet (doesn't disturb anyone else in the house) but definite. I can identify my attempts to vary dynamics, from PP to forte with ease and without harsh beating.
Overall: My first drum pad leads me to brand loyalty; I'll purchase Vic Firth products again!
Value: GREAT value: A similar pad goes, in my area for nearly 3x that cost. Shipping was reasonable, fast...I looked forward to getting it.
Appearance: Very nice...professional, I have no problems pulling this out. Even my physical therapist likes the look of it...and it gives me GREAT practice in almost any locale I want to take it to.

Subject:Great Bounce and small enough to take anywhere
Quality: It seems sturdy and well made, plus it has the ability to be attached to a cymbal stand to help it stay in better shape. The pad seems durable as well as the surface it sits on. The black parts are very strong plastic
Features: I love the surface for playing and that you don't have to attach to your knee, but can put on a stand or table. I wish I could have tried the 2 surface pad, but hey this one seems fine as it is.
Sound: nice and quiet. However, you can hear it so that you make sure you played the right strokes!
Overall: It seems great for warm-up, snare rehearsals w/o snare, learning rudiments. I've never tried the cheaper ones so I don't know how it compares. I used to have Remo Pad and it is comparable to it; however, the Remo was a little better feel, but also louder.
Value: okay
Appearance: looks great
