Let me state for the record that I just purchased a third unit of this product. There is simply nothing like it out there other than the RISA electric ukes, but they cost about 5 times as much as these units.
However, "caveat emptor," something this wonderful but yet inexpensive does not arrive without flaws. The first one I bought was wonderful right out of the box: intonation and setup were perfect. After less than 3 months the pickup selector switch went bad, and it's got to be replaced.
The second one was a scratch and dent, so I knew I was taking my chances. There was a buzz on the C string, plus a slight intonation problem. It required putting on my high-powered readers (two pairs of 150's at same time) but then I realized that the saddle for that string was on backwards. Five minutes with a screwdriver and a tuner fixed it.
Bottom line: still a great instrument, but be ready to spend a little money and a little time on it to get it right.

This is the second purchase I've made of this product. Don't be fooled by the low price: this is a quality instrument. Tuners are good. Single coil pickups are good, if not exactly powerful, they are not exceedingly noisy. Nice tone reproduction on the amp.
Because this has steel strings and single coils, you can run this through your guitar rig and get great sounds.
Mine arrived with the neck straight, string height OK, and intonation set correctly.
I really like it. If you are a guitar player and are looking for a different sound to throw into the mix, this is a good option. The instrument arrives with standard uke re-entrant tuning ("my dog has fleas"), which makes for some nice chord voicings. I've been finding that the cGEA tuning works really well if your band or praise team works a lot in flatted keys (Bb, Eb, F).
It made me really happy to play an instrument this inexpensive and realize that the frets have been adequately dressed: no sharp edges!

This product is very well made with workable equipment on it that really is impressive plays really well too. I would recommend having it set up by a professional first though.
and that bridge has to go they should have really look around for a better bridge it's tinka toy and gets in the way of the hand, bulky, huge and really for a short instrument like this a fixed bridge is really sufficient Now take a good look at this instrument it's really beautiful but the first thing that stands out yup it's that bridge what a waste.
well I got ride of the one that was on mines so now it wales good set of 9s Ernie ball or GHS or De A Jazz flat wond and rockout nice action full on guys JUST THAT DANG BRIDGE

This is a cute little flat bodied electric uke I bought as a gift for my daughter. The instrument is great - plays more like a little electric guitar than a ukulele. A string broke on day one. Vorson does not have strings for these ukes. My daughter got in touch with AMS and they assured her she would be able to purchase light gage guitar strings locally to replace the one she broke, which she did. I think this uke is a nice little instrument for the price.
