My new favorite amp
Quality:
Seems solid enough and works well so far, but haven't had it but for a couple months..
Reliability:
Can't say yet.
Overall:
Love it. Looks nice, sounds great for a small amp. I love the attenuator. The amp is very light and portable. It's so nice my son stole mine and left me his Fender Deluxe Reverb. Bring it back you little punk!
Playability and Feel:
Controls are simple and work well.
Tone:
It can produce every sound from crystal clear to distorted. Loud enough for practice, but can mic it for gigs. I called my son and asked him how the tone of my amp is and he says it's swell.
Finish:
Fit and finish are nice with no noticeable defects.

This little guy ROCKS!
Sound:
Sounds amazing. Great amp for home recording.
Reliability:
Only had it a month, but it seems to be built pretty well.
Overall:
Amazing little amp, definitely worth the $250. If you're in the market for a small cheap amp, nothing beats it.
Finish:
Looks pretty good.

Great tube overdrive!
Quality:
Seems to be well made.
Sound:
The tone is like AC/DC with my Les Paul, and a bit cleaner w more highs with my Fender Mustang-like all of the class A tube amps I've owned, 4 watts is a lot louder than you might think.
Reliability:
N/A-just got it.
Overall:
A real "throaty" sort of tube drive and grit-the 10" speaker doesn't have the full low end of a 12", but it's a fine trade off for the small size.
Playability and Feel:
N/A
Tone:
Can sound a little harsh unless you roll back the tone on the git some.
Finish:
Looks mighty fine.

Stellar by it self or with pedals You gotta try a Metal Muff through these and the trick for pedals is not to turn the volume up to much when you use one after half way the volume really doesn't get much louder but you get more gain so EVERYTHING is possible with these and mic it up and WOW
Overall:
Great amp I now have the 10in and 8in amps and got the 12in extension cab WOW!!!!
Playability and Feel:
Really moves air for the loudest get the 12in and there are some tonal differences in the models

Big Sound, Great Tone, Small Price
Quality:
Absolutely high quality.
Sound:
I've produced a nice range of sounds from this amp. With the stock tubes and single volume pot, it breaks up pretty easily and can get a bit hissy. But after experimenting with tubes and pedals, I've unlocked the potential of this little guy. As my style leans towards rockabilly and country, clean tones are my preference. I changed the preamp tube and ran the signal through a clean boost, compressor, and the real secret - an eq pedal - my sound is everything I could want. I mic it up with an e609 and run through my PA. The real beauty is in not hauling a huge rig to and from gigs. Gone is the dilemna of running through huge amps which can never be turned up. With the AC4 you can really cook the tubes and push the speaker hard and get the full potential without being prohibitively loud. It is true that to get good tone, you have to crank the amp up. With the AC4 you can do just that.
Reliability:
Not a single complaint. I've dragged it all over creation with no problems.
Overall:
This is a well made great sounding amp. Ignore the usual "built overseas" prejudice and just play one. It is solid and once you learn to use it, versatile.
Playability and Feel:

Finish:
Great vintage look.

Quality:
Built like a tank. Dependability will have to be proven over the test of time, but I'm not worried about it.
Sound:
Very full tone. But let's be honest here, it does not have a lot of "clean" headroom at higher volumes. What it DOES have, is exceptional crunch and OD at very low to moderately high volumes. Very creamy and smooth distortion at all settings when pushed to that point. Sounds great with all my guitars. Lowest wattage (.25 watt) setting is perfect for home practice and recording. Higher settings (1 or 4 watts) could easily be used for band practice or smaller gig settings. Heck, throw a mic in front of it and play ANY gig.
Reliability:
Seems to be built to last. Really solid construction. Only had mine since October '09 so time will tell, but I think it will be in my arsenal for a long time!
Overall:
BIG Bang for the $$$! Best amp I've played in it's class! Far superior to any other low watt combo or head out there at any price.
Playability and Feel:
Does not apply
Tone:
Again - Exceptional is the first word that comes to mind. Great for blues and classic rock.
Finish:
The look is really first class. The fit and finish of the parts and covering look great!

Very good quality, as i mentioned, for 250 your unlikely to get a product this good and a Name as strong as VOX anywhere else.
Sound:
Sound is wintage VOX. All of the apellations usually associated with VOX AC amps apply; "chimey" "bright" "spanky" "sparkley" etc.,
But the 10" celestion speaker also lends its character. The amp Breaks up much earlier than is normal for VOX, the ceramic magnet speaker is rather low-midgrangey,somewhat dark sounding, breaks up nice at 1/2 volume, and you can get a very saturated OD sound going on as well. So rather than being limited to telecaster twangy Brittish invasion and surf stuff that VOX amps are often used for, you get a more versatile amp thats just as useful for rock power chords and soloing, a la The Brian May sound.
Reliability:
Dont know yet but so far im impressed with the Build. Its a little brick.
Overall:
I have rated this little sucker a 5, and i think its worth every star. Im not comparing it to a handwired AC15, or a Soldano Astroverb, Hi-Watt, etc., or any other thousands of dollars amps. In its power and price range, there is, IMHO, nothing that surpasses The AC4TV in sound or appearance. Therefore, a "5"
Playability and Feel:
The amp is extremely simple. Has great touch dynamics and true VOX tone.
Tone:
Does the VOX twangy thing, but also does some meatier chunk and sustain.
Finish:
Its beautiful. Vox could have put out something like the black valvetronix things, or even the standard black and burgundy, but they gave us the White TV look they save for the handwired models. very nice.
Action:
Simple but not too simple. The single Tone knob is a great feature that allows some EQ'ing without wrecking the "whole amp" sound that is one of the attractive things about a low watt single ended tube amp. Best of both worlds. The three power setting transformer ("attenuator") is awesome. I like it better than a speaker attenuating device because it dosent attenuate out too much other stuff. Its just three different windings on the Transformer. cool.

I love this little guy!
Quality:
So far very well made. It's made in Vietnam, but VOX must have very strict manufacture standards in place. It doesn't look like anyone cut ANY corners. I'm impressed.
Sound:
Everything from sparkling clean to sweet tube distortion. I read on the description that it came with Sovtek tubes (1- 12AX7, and 1- EL64), so I took off the back cover to make sure. Yes it's true. Love the Sovteks. And the 10 inch Celestion is snappy with a quick response. It's class A, so this thing is amazingly loud; I use it on the 1/4 watt setting most of the time. Had it to 1 Watt a couple of times. The 4 watt setting is just loud! Gotta hear it to believe it.
Reliability:
So far tough and no problems.
Overall:
This is my new favorite small amp. I have a couple of bigger ones, but this one is so portable and just fun. Built tough I think.
Playability and Feel:
The controls are simple. Power attenuator (1/4, 1 and 4 watts), Volume, and Tone. Couldn't be easier.
Tone:
Bright and clear, to smoky, creamy distortion. I rarely used any pedals anymore unless I want some delay or reverb, etc.
Finish:
It's a nice creamy white that looks great. The rubber handle feels very strong. I like the grill-cloth. Looks great!
Action:
It doesn't have strings, so this is N/A.

I've owned 2 Vox AC15s and they've both stood the test of time despite being made in China. This amp's made in Vietnam so we'll see.
Sound:
Amazing Vox tube tone. Sparkly clean on 4 watts up until about 11 oclock then it breaks up. The 1 watt breaks up sooner and the 1/4 watt is sweet tube saturation at nearly the same place where 4 watts only starts to break up. TONE TONE TONE!
Reliability:
We'll see. Just got it. Looks good though.
Overall:
This is the best practice amp you will get for the money! Class A tube tone in a little package. Love that it has a 10 inch speaker and not an 8 inch (though I'd prefer a 12). I love the versatility. And this thing is LOUD! You can easily push a cabinet with it. The break up is amazing. The tone is very sensitive to the guitar being used and the volume. I can't wait to record with this little puppy too.
Tone:
It sounds smaller than an AC15 (duh) but the sound is the same. It's like someone shrunk the AC15. It's beautiful.
Finish:
Love the vintage TV white. Wish all Vox amps were like this.

A incredible improvement of the old reverved Vox AC4 of yesteryear !
Quality:
Extremely well built .
Sound:
The tone of this Vox is really heavenly .It will go from glassy to gritty with ease and simplicity of operation .The 16 ohm specially designed Celestion 10 inch loud speaker sounds quite remarkable ,but this little combo can easily drive a 4 by 12 cabinet easily .Why I feel the tone is so sweet is the 16 ohm impedence .This comes from a player who owns 21 amps .
Reliability:
I have only had this amp for a short time ,but own two other Vox amps (different models) ,which have served me well over the years .I expect this guy has the same bloodlines ,and is built to go the distance .
Overall:
I have always over my 50+ years of playing guitar been drawn to low wattage toneful amps .The break up very easily ,or can deliver a glassy smooth tone .The Vox AC4TV does all this and more .The fractional wattage attentuator works great .Highly recommended .You have to hear this amp to truly appreciate it .
Playability and Feel:
The amp is approximately 20 pounds ,and feels very solidly constructed .It is a closed back design ,with a vent on top of the amp ,although it does not seem to overheat .Handle is solidly fastened .
Tone:
A wide palette of tones as stated before .
Finish:
The finish of this amp is gorgeous .It loks even better in hand than in picture .The cream color is offset by the classic diamond pattern grille cloth ,and the gold Vox name plate .The knobs are chicken head design ,and work smoothly .
