Product Review I needed a bit more low end response out of my year-old Vox AC10-C1 that puts out 10 watts. It's a great loud and clean little amplifier, but there's so much a 10" speaker can do. So, after reading the specs, the V212C looked to be a good addition for working at lower recording volumes without distorting from pushing the power tubes beyond their practical limits. Ahem. Well... After the V212C got here, I set it up and tried 3 instruments: my Telecaster, my Firebird and my Rick 360-12. FINALLY! A natural sounding bottom end that's clean! And it can get LOUD. The Tele still had that enamel-melting bite but the mids were fatter and had more interesting overtones; the 'Bird sounded more like a jazz-purposed instrument with richer mids and low end response without losing that articulate voicing from the mini-humbuckers. However the biggest change was from the Ric: the sound now has an an almost 3-D quality- the balance of lows, mids and highs is surreal. This setup is an unexpected winner!
