Such a Great Little Amp!

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Fit and finish are top-notch. It does not have the "heft" of a 45-lb tube combo, but it is just as well made for a 17-lb amp.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Had it a couple of years, no problems, speaker has broken in nicely.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
When I first played this at a gig, the sound man asked me about my new "tube" amp. He was amazed when he found out it was not tubes because I was getting the same kind of gradual "breakup" from light to heavy picking just like tubes.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Classic Vox knobs - sweet. Tremolo and reverb very useful, get the footswitch.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Be real, it's a practice amp! But when I mic this baby up, it is good to go! I have not tried it with a big cab, but everybody says it's awesome. My acoustic even sounds great through this thing, real clean, bright and chimey, maybe it's the 8" speaker, I don't know. My Nova System sounds great in front of this amp, too!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It looks like a Vox and sounds like a Vox. I love the way it looks.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Solid, no creaks, squeaks or rattles. Highly recommended.

only owned it a month, but i play at home and it seems sturdy . . . for the money, you could always replace it.
General

i like this product for the separate line out and headphone out.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
controls are easy, be carefull the gain is all the way off if you want super clean. the top boost really zooms. and back to tone . . . the top boost really improves the tone, but i laid off it since i'm using a tube preamp and pedals.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
dark, warm, can be mellow and thick with a bit of temolo and reverb.
Finish

good exterior, classy.

Action
How was the action out of the box?
Sounded really good for a budget-priced amp, and it improved quickly as the speaker broke in!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Appears and feels to be constructed quite nicely. Corner protectors would be nice, though.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Haven't had it long, but if it survived my speaker "break-in" procedure, it'll last forever!
General
Your general opinion of this product.
First impression was: This looks like a real VOX! Sounds like one, too! Attractive, classic looks, nice feeling controls, no real complaints. Takes modulation effects well, but distortion effects seem to overload it if used heavily.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I really like this little amp and the tonal palette it offers. Nice to have the controls on top of a unit this size, vice on the front. Reacts pretty well to picking nuances and pickup volume changes. Inclusion of the footswitch would have been nice, even with the corresponding price hike.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
This is a nice, warm sounding amp presenting a variety of tones with the twist of a few knobs.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Fit and finish are as good as, if not better than, anything at or near it's price point. Classic VOX appearance.

This is a great little amp for practice or gigging! When I baught this,I was looking to get a Brian May "Deacy.Unfortunately, they had been discontinued,so I went with this.I am very happy that I made the decision to go with the 15R!
I have done a gig with a 15"cab hooked to this running a keyboard through it.A little thin for keys, but great on guitar.

I hate the word "tone." Way overused in this industry. With my mando it sounds clean, clear and punchy. Definatly loud enough for gigging
