Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I have had this amp for about a month. I is loaded with more presets than I personally will ever need. It is a good looking edition to my ever growing array of gear. It seems to built very solid. All the buttons and knobs operate smoothly.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
30 days is not a true picture of reliability. But so far so good. Looking down the road I am not looking forward to having to replace the tube. I don't see any easy way to do that. That may be by design to ensure that a luthier/amp tech has a little job security.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
In general I am pleased with my purchase. There is a little bit of a learning curve to programming user programs. I bought the VS5F footswitch to accompany the amp. No problems with communication. Reviews around the web have pointed out that there is no line out or capability to direct to a mixer/pa. That would be a nice feature to add in the next iteration of the Valvetronix VT++'s.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I personally love the +(plus) feature. Adding that extra bit of wattage is really nice with the AC30 and US Metal amp models.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
There is a wide variety of amps to suit just about everyone's tastes. The only effect that I don't care for is the "Acoustic Pedal". For my taste it was not rich enough to emulate a really good acoustic tone.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Looks good in the amp corner.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Operates with in design parameters. All tube amp models sound better after a few minutes of warm up. This is my first amp with a tube as part of its circuitry. I assume that this is normal.
