I researched this for quite a while and decided on AMS at the best available price. This pedal woke up my pedalboard starting with an edgier clean and then on down to better distortions. Just what I needed for my cramped board. The only downside is that the pedal looked like a returned unit, definitely not brand new. Love it, kept it.

This is a great pedal to push your amp into sweet overdrive. works great with my fender vibrolux, or my Mesa tc50 and it doesn't take up very much space, and it looks pretty cool on my board, and it feels well built and heavy duty, great pedal in my opinion.

I’ve played at least a dozen of the top K style pedals, and an original, and the voicing of the Tumnus does something great with the lower range of the tone. It is just magical as a boost or to thicken your tone, and the price just cannot be beat!

I really don't leave reviews, but in this case I will. This pedal is absolutely fantastic. I use it as a clean boost after my distortion to lift my leads over the mix. Works so good.
I was skidding about the mini, because I hate most buffers, but like one reviewer mentioned, the buffer did something to my tone. It added some mojo to my mids or something. I cant quite put my finger on it, but it was a missing ingredient to my chain.

Ran a soul food for a long time for all my k style overdrive needs but it was so noisy. Brian Wampler knocked it out of the park...again.
This is my 2nd wampler pedal in 30 days through AMS and I cant say enough about how grateful i am for them. If it weren't for AMS i wouldn't have half the gear I do!

I was always curious to try out the Wampler Tumnus overdrive! My expectations have been met. Actually my expectations have been exceeded! What a great overdrive. I run it in front of my victory the 40 amp and wow! I ran it in front of my fender deluxe reverb wow! A wonderful pedal. Very expressive. I wish I would’ve known about this pedal (or the original) years ago!

I’ve been a TS kinda guy for as long as I can remember, but had a tiny little sliver of space to fill on my board and decided I’d give this a shot. Really really glad I did! I have no other klon’s to compare this to, but wow. Super transparent and gritty for such a small footprint/price-point. Totally agree with others, this is definitely an “always on” pedal and it pairs very very well with others.

I use this pedal at the very end of my chain as a Volume
boost with character. It of course is so much more.
However I have on my board Wampler Clarksdale, Pinnicale,
and Dracarys.
Tumnus is the icing on the cake. Its fantastic!
Wouldn't expect any less from Wampler.

Sounds just as good as it's big brother and fits nicely anywhere on your board. Sometimes I use it as a boost, other times I crank the gain and switch to the neck pickup for a killer bluesy crunch. Highly recommend this pedal!

I really love the Tumnus. This is the first pedal since I bought my OCD 11 years ago that I know I will keep on my board. I have bought quite a lot of expensive boost and overdrive pedals over the years, and none of them ever lived up to what people said they could do for my tone. Not even a TS, not even after being modified by Keeley. The Tumnus sounds great as a standalone overdrive. You can dial in several useful OD tones with it. I am using it as a boost in front of the dirty channels of my Mesa Royal Atlantic. It definitely add some nice grit, harmonics and boosts the volume a noticeable amount. It does so without making the tone thin and nasally. Most boost pedals just increase the overdrive/distortion of the amp or add noise. Not the Tumnus. It really does what Wampler says it will. I am really impressed after 29 years of playing and looking and buying amps/pedals.

This is where leprechaun and unicorn farts come together in mythical harmony. This pedal will stay on my board in the on position forever. Low gain really fattens up the middle of any tele or strat. If you serious about tone you need this in your life

The search is over. I am not a pedal user. I don't have a pedal board. Heck...I had to buy a power adapter because I didn't even have one of those.
Back to the pedal...what an inspiring array of tones one can get from the Tumnus. It's astonishing really. The gain on tap is huge. But usually, somewhere in the middle is where you want to be. You can also adjust in some treble or bass...along with a volume and gain control.
Normally, pedals will work better with an LP or a strat. This pedal get's along well with all my guitars, but especially my Mark V Guitars T Style. I'll check back in after the honeymoon.

What they say about this thing is true. It's absolutely killer. It took about 3.7 seconds to realize everything ever said about this pedal (and many others of this circuit type) is NO JOKE. Adds a layer of dimension like nothing else I've ever heard. If you are familiar with the amount of gain a regular Ibanez TS9 has, this has more... but not melting-Marshall-more. I have it in a chain that includes TC Polytune> Dunlop Hendrix Wah> MXR DynaComp> TS9> Tumnus> DOD FX40B EQ> ISP Decimator> TC Flashback Delay. The Tumnus is fuller in the bottom and more 3-dimensional than the TS9... and more quiet. Stacked together they are doubly killer. OD settings (1-10 scale) TS9: Drive-2, Tone-5.5, Level-4. Tumnus: Gain-3, Treble-4, Volume-4.5. Even my 80s era EQ pedal has never sounded better with the Tumnus in front of it. This thing is worth it. I don't want to turn it off. Good thing I don't need to. Rolling back the guitar volume preserves the layer of awesome, but cleans up nicely.
