Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This mandolin seems to be made very well. The cosmetic flaws look more like it was used instead of new. The hard case that came with it is very impressive. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had it for 3 weeks, but stays in tune well while played and while being stored. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Overall I am pleased with this mandolin. The finish was chipped on the back and there were some light scratches on the face guard. It looks like a demo model. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? After playing around on it for awhile to help break the strings in, it does good. The neck seems to be a little narrow, not easy for thick fingers. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is warm and mellow, but not too mellow. I like it. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I wasn't impressed with the finish. It was chipped on the back and had obviously been played a bit before I purchased it. Action How was the action out of the box? The strings needed breaking in and retuned to standard.
