| Subject: | Remember this is a PARLOR guitar ,not a dreadnaught ,or Jumbo !! |
| Quality:
| I think this guitar is made fairly well .I would not advise anyone not experienced in tech work to attempt truss rod adjustment ,leave such adjustment to a pro ,and you will save money and headaches in the future . |
| Sound:
| The tone is tight and focused ,and rather percussive when strummed hard ,a la Robert Johnson .It is also very suitable for songwriting ,and a nice comfy axe . |
| Reliability:
| I have srial number 17 ,and have had no problems .Washburn has a limited lifetime warranty ,so you have a safety net there .If treated right ,I see this axe as quite reliable ,and kind of an heirloom . |
| Overall:
| Excellent reproduction of the late 1800's guitar .This axe is small by nature ,and be aware that the neck is a very prononced "V" shape .Really nice repro case comes with the axe .If you know what you are buying and have use for a nice parlor guitar ,this may be for you .I really like this axe ,although I am primarily an electric player . |
| Playability and Feel:
| This is a light small bodied guitar ,with a very pronounce "V" neck .If you are not accustomed to this neck style ,you may not like this axe .To me it is very playable ,and has a cool vibe and feel. |
| Tone:
| Percussive ,focused ,and responsive to strum strength .You can get a bluesy tone ,or a tone that suits "Wonderful Tonight ".It is versitle in the right hands . |
| Finish:
| Nice job at recreating an old axe ,not overly reliced ,but nicely done .Interior glue is acceptable ,could be a bit neater ,but not at all bad .The case is great ! |
| Action:
| Action was of medium height ;comfortable for chording ,and suitable for gentle slide work .I think it was a good compromise .It is a fun axe to play ,and records well in the studio . |

| Quality:
| Not well made. Not dependable. Sloppy tuners. Laminated top. No volume, no bass. Awful neck. |
| Reliability:
| I've owned this guitar almost a year, a tuner went bad. The bridge started to rise up due to no glue between the rear of the bridge and the FINISHED top - revealing Laminated spruce, although it is described as Aged Look Spruce Top, not mentioning the lamination. |
| Overall:
| This is junk. The inlays are crooked, the sound is similar or less than a kid's cardboard guitar. The top is thin plywood. Mine has the worst glue job I've ever seen on a guitar, places where the stain did not take and insufficient glue under the bridge. |
| Playability and Feel:
| The V neck is really too sharp to be comfortable. I guess it looks old timey but it's impractical. The action was OK. I say WAS because mine is now unplayable due to the glue letting go under the bridge - and I only used light strings!! |
| Tone:
| It just doesn't get it. |
| Finish:
| The finish is supposed to look "Aged" I guess, meaning someone in the shop banged it up on purpose with a screwdriver or something. The worker knocked an inlay right out of the bridge and this passed inspection. |
| Action:
| OK
American Musical Supply was good to me when early on, I decided to keep this thing. They gave me a discount due to the misplaced and crooked inlays. However, Washburn has unfortunately surprised me. In time, as I stated, the bridge came up due to poor assembly. My Washburn 12 stringer is a beauty but this Parlor Guitar is nothing but a 500 dollar wall hanging. |
