I own a lot of Warm Audio gear. Adding this to the arsenal finally and needless to say I love it. I’ve recorded bass, vocals, acoustic and electric guitar and it’s definitely a tone beast. From clean to overdriven it sounds great! Next I plan on getting the WA-412. Warm Audio is a great company and have great customer service as well. Also American Musical is the best. Seriously. I get all of my orders in one day. I just ordered an Audient interface for my mobile set up. I ordered it at 4:30pm on Wednesday and got it the next day by 11:30am. I’m super impatient to get my gear, so they never disappoint getting it to me super quick.

I was looking for a change up from the tube amp sound and after I a bit of searching I ran into this bad boy! After going the ought many written and YouTube reviews I decided it was the right one. The amount of customization Nd variation the tone beast has sold me. Each knob has a purpose and can immediately be audibly heard. Whether your going for a clean or vintage sound the tone beast has plenty of options for you. The mid range price budget makes this a gem and well worth the money. I give it 5 stars!

Best Tone Ever.....but expected more flexibility.

Best tone ever, of any preamp I've ever used. I am "sold" on Warm Audio products. However, there is not that much noticeable difference in tone, when changing the Op Amps/Capacitors/Transformers. I'm sure there's some way to make those work.....but I'm one of those people that wants results, "straight out of the box".
Can't fathom spending that kind of money and not getting any use out of those extra features. Still, I was really impressed with the sound Warm Audio is able to do.
Ended up getting the WA-273 instead, and am extremely happy with it.

I've only had the TB12 for a couple weeks so I can't give a complete review but so far it sounds great paired with my Sm7b. Plenty of gain. Also love the tonal options. The TB12 is versatile.

I did a lot of research before finally choosing the WA TB12 and could not be any happier. This is a "do it all" workhorse that is built with quality parts that produces a wide range of tonal options. Warm and vintage tone is what I was looking for and the TB12 delivers it in spades. If a clean sound is what you are looking for, fear not as the TB12 covers that with ease as well. With two Op amps and two transformers, a lot of tonal variations are readily available here. And the Op amps are switchable???? Just crazy at these prices. All in all, a must have for any budget minded studio. I'll be getting another one of these for sure. Superb sound at a superb price!

Your general opinion of this product.
Amazing value for the $
Built as good as my Vintechs
Extremely easy to understand and put to use, right out of the box
The ability to switch between transformers and op amps is brilliant. Very subtle changes in sound, but great versatility, come mix time
Kick ass tone. Holds up to my UAD pres
Built like the proverbial brick house

Great product-don't read Noob reviews before passing judgement

Your general opinion of this product.
This product is a great product. Preamps are not effects, so fore anyone new to audio recording or live sound the preamp to untrained ears is not super noticeable. But at the same time is super important. By reading Steve VKTM's review you can tell he has little experience in the audio industry, and might have thought that a preamp should be an effect. This is not the case. For more info on what a preamp should do and should not do go to gearslutz, or something. Also zenproaudio has a thing called a clipinator which can be helpful in deciding which color or uncolored preamp might be worth you looking into. Always try before you buy, and record different stuff with it, drums;bass;guitars;vox; synths; etc. This unit has quality parts and can do clean and variations of other sounds as well. Including API, Neve, ish type of sounds. It just verywell maybe close to a Slate Fox pre, which has different styles of pre's in it as well.
Yes
Easy as pie, turn knobs till it sounds good.
It's options and variable switching of opamps, and saturation.
Phat, clean, warm, gritty

Your general opinion of this product.
Still experimenting with the unit. 1 rack space, affordable, and smooth sounding. I'm playing punk rock, so the gain is a nice feature. I really don't need all that much hi end stuff. Vocals can get gnarly in a good way and guitars are pretty good so far. Bass is next.
Yes, it's a good piece of gear for it's price range! The Tone section is a bit subtle for my ears, but I've only had it 2 weeks. In 2 months I'm sure I'll know more. As the heading said, So far so good!
Only a few knobs. Everything is where it should be. I guess a stereo one might be good. I'm sure that will happen soon. It has everything it needs for a recording. I bet pro studios might use it for it's unique sonic qualities, especially in the rock genre.
Has all the standard features for a unit in it's price range. I have no complaints so far. I'm happy!
I've only had it 2 weeks. In 2 months I'll know more.
As I said, So far so good!
It's been in operation for 2 weeks and has performed flawlessly. Ask me a year from now.

Your general opinion of this product.
This thing is fantastic!! Nice warm tone, great features.. Lot of option to process your signal through it. Vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar , bass guitar.. You name it . It's sounds" WARM"
Solid built. It will last for a long long time.
It's easy to use. It's a must to read a manual to understand the great features this beast has to offer.
The best features are switchable 2 cinemag transformers,it can be bypassed as well( neat idea). Op amp selection options and vintage & clean selection switch.
Nice warm tone.. If you want some color to your tone this is it and it can be clean as well.
it's working great.. No issues at all.
