Over a Decade Old and Still Killing It!

I'm mostly a modular nerd, but I do like digital synths for piecing together songs quickly. I've got a little workstation with a Virus TI2 and an MPC. It's everything you could possibly need, right? I love the Virus. It's a total chameleon. BUT, it just doesn't sound aggressive enough sometimes and the bass is kind of muddy on it. That's why I keep coming back to the Blofeld. Its interface isn't the best to work with, but if you give it the time, you can program punchy demonic basses that'll make your speakers cry out for mercy. It's a really good synth. I wouldn't use it on its own, but for basses, leads that can cut through a mix, and glassy textures, I have yet to find anything that can beat a Blofeld, and it's still holding its own after being on the market for well over a decade.

I had no idea what this synth could do! It really is a sampler and can take ANY wave file and use it. I never understood the badrap digital synths get! People use VSTS which are digital synths with analog faux algorithms and are built for a machine not made for it! The Blofeld is a huge bargain especially consindering the next step up (for a Waldorf anyway) is over 2k. I love this synth!

Worth the Money!

This synth may be a bit older, but the fact that it is multi-timbral (meaning it can play patches simultaneously up to 16 MIDI channels) is what really makes it stand out. It’s the perfect mobile synth if you need to just take one. Build quality and sounds are exceptional. A bit of menu diving, but you get used to it. Excellent companion to hardware sequencers (I use Polyend Tracker and Squarp Pyramid). A steal at its price range!

Product Review
Beautiful compact synth with girth. Thick leads and subharmonic overtones easily make this one of the best deals out there. Just an epic piece of gear that any synth player should have in their arsenal. I am so glad AMS helped me get this piece and make it part of my permanent setup. Buy this synth! WALDORF BLOFELD

Love this synth! I can creat any dark pad on the Blofeld. Using a Roli Seaboard and assigning one voice per midi channel, I can produce every nuance and expression of sound via the Roli. A second Blofeld is now a must as a polychained Blofeld OMG.
As always AMS are the best.

Product Review
I'm into atmospheric/ambient music and had been overrun with recommendations from everybody I knew, both in-person and online (you have to get this, just try it out). I was hesitant at first because it had been around since 2007 (so long ago) and I was looking for this year's model. I finally succumbed to peer pressure (with some curiosity for seasoning) and bought it a month ago.
The Blofeld has exceeded my expectations.
Still exploring the presets (1000+ of them) and tweaking as I go.
The desktop model requires a controller (or controllers) (I'm using a Beatstep Pro (for the arpeggiator) and a Keystep (for the rest). Blofeld has 25 voices and 16 part multi-timbrality, but you have to work a bit to make this happen. Much tweaking required. This unit is not for slackers, but the industrious will reap the sonic rewards.
Persian cat optional.
