There is soooo much more to this synth than it appears on the outside!
It has a very unique sound, and can generate almost any sound you can think of!
Don’t drop it on your foot! It’s made of steel!

This synth has gotten a bad reputation from its initial launch release but the new models are top notch especial for the price. Its versatility and overall sound output can go toe to toe with the likes of say a Prophet-6 but for a third of the price. Highly recommend!

I have owned a lot of different synths in the past but only have a few favorites. This one has made the list...a great sound engine and easy to use. Built like a tank too. I do wish there was a way to know when you have the octave changed however but I won't detract a star for that.

Construction quality is very high with the curious exception of the connectors not being mounted to the chassis. The entire chassis is rolled steel that feels marvelously robust, but it took 2 tries to get me a working model. The first one sounded like it had a blown D/A converter.
For the money the features are unbelievable. Three words: User. Created. Wavetables. The combination of VA, wavetables, and sampling is just unbeatable. A 16-slot mod matrix with 4 arithmetic-based modifiers in addition to the dozens of baked-in modulation options makes this thing a programmer's dream. Some features I wish it had: Individual output controls for each filter, the ability to control any FX parameters (even just the mix % would be nice), delay and reverb options in effect slot 1, and better quality delay and reverb. It would also be cool to get things like harmonic scale pitch bend from the Microwave II.
For me this is a remarkably easy synth to use. Coming from the Kurzweil/JX-8P camp, this thing is a walk in the park for me. If you're used to a lot of knobs and/or are averse to programming you'll still get far on the 1,000+ presets, but you may have a hard time getting around.
Gorgeous. Stunning. The VA oscillators are wonderfully rich and the "Brilliance" control is just that. Wavetables sound awesome and the sampler sounds just fine. There's a certain "hi-fi" sheen to everything. The filters are amazing. Call up an init patch with two sawtooth oscillators and slap the 24db/octave filter on it and you've got one seriously sweet pad. The PPG filter is awesome. Envelopes are snappy and LFOs go well into the audio range. My only sonic complaints are in the effects. The delay is a little stilted and the reverb is ... not good. There. I said it.
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall this is the total package. I could easily sell my modest keyboard collection and be satisfied with just the Blofeld. Not just today, but well into the future. If you can get a grasp on the user interface and if the sound works for you, it's just magic.
Surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much until I heard that it has the same Fatar keybed as my Kurzweil K2661. Probably the best synth-weighted action out there. Velocity is delightfully predictable, everything feels solid, and aftertouch works as it should. If you're used to unweighted aftertouchless cheaper keybeds (e.g. the Nord Lead 2X), you'll love the Blofeld Keyboard's action.
When I really think about this price point and what I expect for a synth that sells for less than $1,200, the Blofeld Keyboard seems like a no-brainer bargain. There's tons of action at and below it, such as the Novation Supernova and the Roland Gaia, but they're just not in the same class. As far as I'm concerned, the closest true competitors are the Clavia Nord Wave and the Virus TI2, both of which cost twice as much. I believe that the Blofeld Desktop is the better absolute bargain, but the Keyboard is a beautifully-made instrument at a great price that -- to me -- sounds as good as it gets.
