Great Guitar
Quality:
Seems to be well made. Yamaha is known for there quality and this guitar shows that.
Sound:
Great sound. I am new to learning so I still need some practice but this guitar even sounds good when I play it and I have only been playing for a month.
Reliability:
Just got it so no comment yet on the reliability but I have no worries.
Overall:
This is a great guitar. Very pleased with the way it plays and the great craftsmanship. Best choice I could have made and the price is great and well worth it.
Playability and Feel:
This guitar plays great. Neck has a satin finish so your hand moves easily up and down the neck. No heavy but does not feel cheap.
Tone:
Great tone. Has a nice rich smoothness that I love.
Finish:
No flaws what so ever. Beautiful pick guard and the finish is outstanding.
Action:
Action was great. Needed very little tuning and it was so easy to tune.

FG700S -- nice sound, durable, great value
Quality:
This guitar feels very nice. A bit lighter than I was expecting. The tuners hold tune very well. Yamaha came highly recommended on most message boards and it's not hard to see why.
Reliability:
I've had it about a month now and that's not nearly enough time to tell, but I have no doubt it'll last for years with proper care.
Overall:
For the price, the solid top, and the positive reviews of Yamaha's quality control and durability, I'd say it's a great value for an acoustic, best suited for beginners and for experts to have a spare on hand.
Playability and Feel:
The neck is solid, feels slightly thick. No dead spots on the fretboard. The fret markers are a little hard to see from the front if you're teaching someone.
Tone:
The tone is a lot brighter than I had hoped. Good volume, very clear sound. Lots of mids, not enough bass.
Finish:
The wood looks very nice, even grain and colorful. The clear coat is very thick and will probably easily protect the wood from day to day abuse.
Action:
The action was a bit higher than I assumed it would be, contrary to what posts suggested. I'll probably lower it in the future.
