Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very solid build quality it seems. They are even a little heavy, but that is fine by me. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? EQ on the back of the speaker is great for using it in different rooms. I like that they have XLR jacks as one of the available inputs Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? EQ is straightforward, Volume knob, pretty easy to understand quickly Sound How is its Tone? Phenomenal. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had them for about a month so far, don't see it being an issue Overall Your general opinion of this product. Speakers sound great! I still cannot believe how crisp the bass is without having a dedicated subwoofer. Very impressive how articulate and wide these speakers sound. Completely satisfied with purchase.

The room correction features are nice, it makes them easily adapt to any room size. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Very easy to use, just set them up and turn them on. Sound How is its Tone? Tone is awesome, I use mine "flat" however the the treble & bass are totally adjustable. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had mine for about 2 months, but I bought these because a friend have had two pair for about 2 years, and they are still going strong. Overall Your general opinion of this product. In my opinion, the best 8" monitors on the market.

Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? best feature is room control switch and all the other eq switches that enables to tweak the response depending on the space it's being used. second best feature is the cleanliness of the mids and highs that yamaha hs series are all known for for decades. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? except the location of the power switch it is very easy to use. if it was in the front of the unit i would have been happier:) Sound How is its Tone? tone is accurate can't be much more. you would have to pay arm and a leg price to get this quality from another brand, such as genelec...I used event tr5s for a long time and waited and saved money to buy these. once i turned hs80ms on, i could hear the details that i could not on the events. i tested adam audio A8X with the same setting and music, it didnt have any major difference in the frequency response in my opinion. hs80ms' response of low ends & mids were more accurate than adams, however adams' highs were a bit more crisp and powerful. overall i think old school still beats the rookie:) if you have a tight space like my mini studio than get a thick carpet runner with thick rubber back from lowes or homedepot, sold by foot, and place it behind the whole area of the monitor. it really helps. especially if the walls are made out of wood and/or drywall. due to small size of my isolated booth, mini studio, i use the low eq in 80hz, mid and highs in flat, room control -4db Reliability How has it stood up over time? just got it 3 months ago still working good. Overall Your general opinion of this product. it's physically big and deep so if you have tight space i recommend keep them away from the walls as much as possible.

Sound How is its Tone? the sound is flat what i play is what is meant to be heard. i love it cant believe how true it is (again when it is set to your room properly). Reliability How has it stood up over time? had about a month now time will tell Overall Your general opinion of this product. this is a sleeper really!. no they dont give you the super low end but this gives you a accurate sound that you NEED!! i have mixed on these and mixes sound the same in headphones, computer speakers, cars and other systems as long as you set the eq and room controls to your room thats the key.

Made my recordings come to life. I have a set of M-Audio BX 5a's and BX 8a's and they will now go on the auction block. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Should be OK. Yamaha makes good stuff. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Like most of these monitors, it needs to have handles of some sort. Other than that very nice.

Very easy, the stands offered in the package are strong, confident looking pieces. he auralex pads fit perfectly, and the monitors sound terrific, are built very well, look great and sound terrific with very little ear fatigue so far. Sound How is its Tone? Excellent sound far and above what one would expect in this price range. Reliability How has it stood up over time? So far so good, Overall Your general opinion of this product. I love these monitors, as soon as I introduced them to my studio I could hear an enormous difference in sound, including clarity, depth and overall resolution. I was using some M-Audio Studio pro 4's to mix with. They are good little monitors, but moving up to the Yamahas has shown me I was mixing in the dark. In short, I am very happy with these monitors. I used to have a pair of KRK V8's from back in the day and I remember them sounding a bit harsh after long term listening. These do not.
