Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Extremely well made. Top quality craftsmanship, can stand up against any super high end monitor Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? extremely flat response. I can easily pick apart frequencies in my mixes, and the low cut frequency for the bass is a great feature because one of my monitors is in the corner of the room and it acts as a built in bass trap. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? plug and play. they have good instructions included. I dropped these suckers on my studio work station and they were booing right out of the box. Sound How is the tone? they sound amazing. You will not get a better monitor for the money. I have cross compared these monitors against other 8" studio monitors like Alesis, Mackie, Event 20/20's, Genelec, and JBl, and they are as good if not more accurate than all in their class. I tested for months, read thousands of reviews and researched heavliy into my products, and i would up buying these. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I just bought them, but Yamahas are known as the staple in the industry for good reason, they last forever. General Your general opinion of this product. Amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone. Any pro engineer will tell you, that you cannot get a better speaker at this price.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? These are some solid, heavy duty speakers. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? It's everything it claims and needs to be. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Plug and play. New to having a subwoofer in the control room, but setup was very straight forward. Sound How is the tone? I recently upgraded from Alesis MKII. What can I say? Night and day difference. All those little imperfections are right out there in the open, which makes it easier to tweek and correct mixes. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Just got 'em in! Hope to be still using them years from now. General Your general opinion of this product. Affordable Yamaha sound without the hassle of having to set up a power amp. The built-in crossover is user friendly and easily adjustable. And the sound man...the SOUND!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very solid build quality it seems. They are even a little heavy, but that is fine by me. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? EQ on the back of the speaker is great for using it in different rooms. I like that they have XLR jacks as one of the available inputs Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? EQ is straightforward, Volume knob, pretty easy to understand quickly Sound How is the tone? Phenomenal. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had them for about a month so far, don't see it being an issue General Your general opinion of this product. Speakers sound great! I still cannot believe how crisp the bass is without having a dedicated subwoofer. Very impressive how articulate and wide these speakers sound. Completely satisfied with purchase.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? exceptionally well made for a mass production type of monitor. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? best feature is room control switch and all the other eq switches that enables to tweak the response depending on the space it's being used. second best feature is the cleanliness of the mids and highs that yamaha hs series are all known for for decades. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? except the location of the power switch it is very easy to use. if it was in the front of the unit i would have been happier:) Sound How is the tone? tone is accurate can't be much more. you would have to pay arm and a leg price to get this quality from another brand, such as genelec...I used event tr5s for a long time and waited and saved money to buy these. once i turned hs80ms on, i could hear the details that i could not on the events. i tested adam audio A8X with the same setting and music, it didnt have any major difference in the frequency response in my opinion. hs80ms' response of low ends & mids were more accurate than adams, however adams' highs were a bit more crisp and powerful. overall i think old school still beats the rookie:) if you have a tight space like my mini studio than get a thick carpet runner with thick rubber back from lowes or homedepot, sold by foot, and place it behind the whole area of the monitor. it really helps. especially if the walls are made out of wood and/or drywall. due to small size of my isolated booth, mini studio, i use the low eq in 80hz, mid and highs in flat, room control -4db Reliability How has it stood up over time? just got it 3 months ago still working good. General Your general opinion of this product. it's physically big and deep so if you have tight space i recommend keep them away from the walls as much as possible.
