Bought these as sidefills but used them as main speakers at a small gig and I was beyond impressed.Crystal clear vocals and mids and the bottom end was excellent. Enjoyed hearing the music as its intended to be heard. And AMS is on the one.

we run the whole band through them successfully getting the whole sound, good bass even without using the subwoofers

These are built like a tank. You would have to put forth a lot of effort to destroy one of these speakers. It won't happen by mistake.
This speaker outperforms any other speaker in it's price range. It has the ability to handle as much power as you want to throw at it without breaking up.
It is a little on the heavy side, but that could be because it is so well made.
I have used a pair these speakers for several years now. Mostly for weddings and birthdays. I have always been complemented on the sound. I added an 18" sub and another power amp and my system sounds better now than most systems that costs twice as much.

Best Buy in Any Town

This speaker is well made and durable, used at a big block party and held it's own for hours, Clean sound used as mid range, then the next day used as bass mid, no slacking the sound was great!!!
No clipping no distortion and that's what I listen for I want clean powerful sound ALL THE TIME!!!
May need to adjust your crossover when using one with these speakers to get the best sound for your system. No need to add anything to it, great as is.
Just plug and play, quick and easy.
Great range of sound; when using crossover in a triamp system I had to adjust the EQ and crossver ranges to get the right sound I wanted, once I hit the sweet spot it was a wrap. TKO lights out.

Muddy Bottom

Submitted: 2/5/2008
Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
I have not had these long, but they seem solid.
EASE OF USE:
They're pretty heavy, but the handles really help.
SOUND:
The mid's and highs sound good, but there is not much on the bottom end, which surprised me with a 15" driver. What is there sounds muddy. I ended up having to add a subwofer and pulling down the bottom end going to these speakers using the mixer's equalizer.

Solid as a rock! Sound great!
By: Fitz from Modesto, California
Submitted: 2/5/2008
Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
These speakers look and feel that they will last a long time. I bought them because of Yamaha's reputation for quality. I recently purchased a Behringer active speaker and it fried on me within the first day (at low volumes). Because of this I when back to the passive approach. These speakers from AMS look great! Solid as a rock!
FEATURES:
These units have both dual Speakon® and 1/4-inch connectors which gives you more options. The grill looks great and it is strong. At around 60 lbs. each, they are a bit heavy but what would you expect from a quality 15 inch speaker and horn housed in a rugged carpeted enclosure. While heavy, they are balanced well and are much easier to carry than the Behringer active speaker I returned.
EASE OF USE:
Easy to get started. Just plug in your favorite speaker cable from your favorite power amp and go.

I am very happy about the price; excellent speaker at a
