This little monster is awesome all the tones I have been searching for. Plus recording capabilities as well. I love this thing. I have been using it for practice more than I have been using my Marshall DSL 40 C. You have got to get one of these. You will not be sorry.

It's Like A Little Very Portable Plexi!

Product Review
I have owned a lot of great tube amps over the years and still do. The Kemper Profiler is an incredible digital solution but not as portable or as cost effective as the Yamaha THR10X. This is the THR amp that is AGGRESSIVE! If your gig is playing Hard Pock and Metal then this is the practice solution for you. The amp models include 2 "Brown" modes and the various effects that sound great. You can even run this little beauty with batteries! The THR is fun for deep editing from your computer via USB and allows you to store the presets. The USB interface also can connect to your DAW for recording right into Pro Tools/Logic/Cubase etc. I highly recommend this amp as a very portable practice rig that also records direct into your DAW.

For the price and form factor, it’s kind of hard to beat this amp. It sounds great, and the versatility of the amp modeler is pretty good. It can also run on batteries, but it’ll only last for about 3 hours.
Great amp for an office or small apartment.

While it’s size and price point will make you skeptical and it’s specs will make you wonder about its potential fear not! This little amp has some of the best distortion tones and useable effects in any practice amp out there. Within minutes of unboxing I was able to produce a thick chorus filled tone that was perfect for pantera style chugs and squeels and despite the amp having “tiny speakers” the bass response has depth and punch thanks to the unique port design! If you dial back the gain and play clean the effects are lush and expansive and best of all it has great tones at moderate volumes (but it can get LOUD when needed!) that won’t have the cops called or angry visits from the neighbors!

This is truly the best amp for metal and rock for the money. I recently purchased the Boss Katana Air for portable wireless recording, but hands down the THR10X out performs in every way. And it records into Logic Pro X perfectly.

It's so versatile I can't even recommend it enough. It also will run on batteries or an included adaptor. Ultra portable so it's just great for just about any occasion from porch to podcasts to sitting on your prch jamming. Ive even heard of people using them in live situations micing the stereo speakers with great success. Buy one of these very well made amps~ you won't be sorry you did...

The Yamaha THR10X amp is really awesome for the price. It packs a lot of power & punch in a small package. Big amount of gain to get powerful distortions like the Peavy 5150, but at low volumes for home/bedroom use. Lots of tone as well! If you are looking for a great amp for a small price, this is the one for you!

This is my 3rd one of these. I haven't learned my lesson to keep them. And this is my third from AMS. This is a great little amp, and it sounds great whether you use headphones, amp wise or usb. Easy to use, software is easy to navigate too. Want to hear it? Look for Cameron Cooper on youtube.

Needed something small to practice with. All kidding aside, was very surprised with the overall sound of this thing. I've played Marshall's, Laney's, and EVH, and this thing emulates breakup and touch sensitivity very well. The volume knocked me back a step. There is a force behind it....ummph for lack of a better word. Limited clean tones, edgy to full on metal tones are great.

Since I bought two 10x amps ,one is left other is right channel The audio expansion effect is great along with a bass mid and treble .The modeling and hall effects are neat too .I run it on NMH batteries I do wish there was bass and treble for aux in would be nice. The unit should be able to charge its own batteries other than that it is the best small portable of all!I run tube amps at home Ben

This amp is absolutely brilliant. My gig rig is a Mesa mini rectifier stack, but it's too Loud to get good tone from playing in my apartment. I have been looking for a good modeling amp for home use for awhile. This thing is simply amazing. Great metal, saturated tones at low low volumes. The auxiliary in and dual volumes let you jam with backing tracks at conversation levels. As far as tube emulation goes, this can't be beat. The fact that it's in stereo makes it sound so much bigger, warmer, and fuller. Especially when you sit directly in front of it. You can hear the effects going in and out. While It's not a tube, it's darn near close. Close enough for me. If they made a 100watt larger version of the X I'd get it for gigging. if you need a home practice/recording amp, please trust me and get this. I promise you'll love it. Or your tone deaf lolol.

This thing does what it means to do and very well. It is well built and looks great. It's so light and small I take it everywhere. I actually leave it in my trunk a lot of the time. variety of great tones and has considerable volume and clarity. On-board tuner works great. My friend has one and we sit on the porch and jam all night long. Great for road trips too. I use this as speakers for my mp3 as well. I will wear this guy out and buy another. I should mention, I really try to avoid SS amps and this does not sound cheap like many solid states.

One of the best purchases I have made

Your general opinion of this product.
Easily the best tone available in this price range. It is not a stage amp, but it excels at what it is. Incredibly easy to practice with, uses batteries or an adapter, sounds much better than I thought it would through the speakers. I do lots of recording and some of the amp models in this thing puts Amplitube out to pasture. Easy enough to use a beginner can figure it out in an afternoon, and the tone and features will surprise even the most jaded veteran.
I've had it less than six months and I have had no trouble from it. It's casing is metal and hard plastic. I think it will last for years with regular use but I wouldn't toss it around like a Peavey either.
Controls are solid, smooth, and self explanatory. You do have to hook it up to a computer to get all it's features and effects, but I don't think there is room on the box to put a knob for every effect. If you aren't at least a little tech savvy or don't have access to a computer then you will have some trouble getting full use of this product.
This is a high gain modelling amp in a lunchbox. As crazy as it sounds this is one of the best modelling amps I have ever heard. If you are into rock or blues one of the other THR amps may be better for you. If you want to throw down some heavy riffs and shred like Dimebag, this is your amp.
Not applicable.
Nothing special, it's a pretty green lunchbox that screams like no other.
Fine. No problems but like I wrote earlier I would not treat it like a solid gig amp.

Your general opinion of this product.
at first I was a little skeptical because it only has 2 8 inch speakersbut as soon as I plug my Hellraiser Into it I was sold because it gives the same tone as my Randall RT 50 half stack
this product is made bulletproof I love the fact that it runs on batteries and you can also plug hey mp3 player or telephone into it and it recreates music awesomely
it isn't all that heavy it isn't bulky there's not a single bad thing I can say about this amp even the duel 8 Cm speakers make amazing sounds
I got the thr 10 X which is the metal version and it gives me tones from the Mesa engineering dual rectifier to dime bags warhead
well this is in the guitar so there is no action but as soon as I got out it out of the box I inserted the a AA batteries and it worked beautifully then I plug in the power supply and it sounded the exact same I was sort of wondering if it would sound different running of the batteries but it sounds just as good running of the batteries then it does running just off the power cord
amazing
well I've only had it for a week so I've gotten it wet once and it still works
