Okay for Beginning Use
Quality:
I was actually disappointed in the rather cheap plastic used for this keyboard. I suspect overall dependability will be good as it usually is with Yamaha products.
Features:
More control over keyboard touch would be nice, and better quality plastic
Ease of Use:
Sets up right away. Lots of features I will not get to explore for quite awhile. Manuel is very good. Playability is very good. Sound quality is variable. Some instruments sound great. Others are a bit weak.
Sound:
Good. Speakers are inadequate but you can pump those up with attachments. Many of the instruments are good, some better than others. Good piano tone. Just needs more volume.
Action:
Action is fairly good. No real complaints. The key return is very much like a piano and I like that. It is not toylike.
Value:
air. At this price level, I would have looked for a low cost console instead. By the time you add a stand, a decent sustain pedal, an adapter, etc. You are up to the $450 range which only puts you about $150 away from a console and you do not have to add all the other equipment. I really advise against buying the Survival Pack. Buy the adapter separately. The sustain pedal in the Pak is so cheap to be worthless. You can buy a good quality one for about $30 from American Musical Supply. The headphones are a joke. They would cost you about $5.00 separately. You do not need the disc as the manual that comes with is quite good.

Professional Instrument / Excellent Value
Quality:
This is an easy board to make high quality noise with. As a stand alone it fills a room. With aux amping and speakers it is awesome.
Features:
The pianos, big onboard speakers, the quality of the other sounds. I would make it easier to program beginnings, changes and endings on the drums and other instruments.
Ease of Use:
If you are baffled by MIDI you will be baffled by most of the features. Electronic music is an acquired taste.
Sound:
The tone is awesome.
Action:
Plug it in and play your heart out.
Value:
For a third or less of the "stage" models (I would take this on the road) you have a concert grand and the rest of the band comes along for the ride. I gave it a four because I haven't gotten into the software yet. The teaching function was a surprise bonus for the beginner in our house who is now hooked.

Great Keyboard For The Buck
Quality:
Very Good Quality. Sturdy construction. Feels solid. I give lessons to children 4-8 years of age and they can be heavy handed. Ive had no problems with it standing up. I play several hours daily and am pleased with the quality. It is light weight considering its size. I am disabled but can still move it around.
Features:
Lots of features. Would have liked more variety in the style department. Miss the Orchestra rhythms I had on the Cassio. For the money its great
Ease of Use:
Relatively easy to use. It didnt take me long to learn most everything. I purchased the Watch & Learn Video but had pretty much mastered the keyboard before it I received it.
Sound:
The sound is very good. I didnt realize the difference until my daughter & I played a duet, her using the Cassio. The sound is really great.
Action:
The action is Good. The touch sensors take a bit of getting used to. But good overall. Once you get used to it its great.
Value:
Very Good Value. In comparison to the Cassio I had before. The only problems I have are with the Survival Package for the price. I dont like the sustain pedal. And the information I thought was in it on the DVD I had to purchase sepatetly. Had I known I wouldnt have purchased the Survuval Pack.

Still average.
Quality:
Fair to poor. Computer software is really bad.
Features:
Lots of sounds and the ability to record a few tracks, but it is a poor choice overall with Yamaha's really stupid web site. Stay away until Yamaha gets it that they are supposed to offer some kind of legitimate content for it on their web site. To show how clueless Yamaha is, the most current driver is on the CD, not on the website. But why hook up to a PC in the first place when it does NOTHING!!!
Ease of Use:
Too funky. Memory setting don't work. PC/ MIDI function is defective. Not even the instruction manual is sure what features are supposed to be on this model.
Sound:
Not as good as hoped.
Action:
The keys make a loud sound - like shoes landing on the floor.
Value:
Not at all.
