Ease of Use:
Subject:it does what drum machines do and its cheap
Quality: It hasn't broke but it's just been sitting in the studio setup so I can't testify to its toughness. Remember this is a recording tool, not an instrument you would take on the road.
Ease of Use: It is hard to move between patterns, you don't just dial up a number and get that pattern, you have to press the +1/-1 button over and over... which means this was meant to be programmed for pattern changes, not used live. Fine for a recording drum machine but prohibative live. I don't use it live anyway (that's what drummers are for), but I could see that being a hardship on someone who wants to. The 7 pads are also restricting, but if you program everything it isn't that big a deal.
Sound: As with all drum machines, it has plenty of sounds you will never use. The one's I do use, however, are extremely realistic and convincing as a room mic rock set with your basic kick/snare/toms and cymbals. I don't really care about techno noises or 'world' percussion. But as far as a standin for a rock drummer, it is hard to tell the dif between this, and a well miced kit.
Value: This is the best drum machine IMO. It does only what you wanted it for, costs half as much as other machines, but got rid of the frills like having more buttons or a nice display. It is streamlined and therefore it is cheap.
Durability: I wouldn't go tossing amps on it in the back of a van or anything, but sitting on a studio desk it should be okay.
