How dependable? not really , i was expecting beter from zoom, i have had this since august of last year i only used it about ten times, the vidio isnt great, the audio is fantastic, last week i had trouble getting the sd card out, and it broke the insert i can only use it if i tape the sd card in, i will be sending it back Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? How playable do you consider this product to be? easy Sound How is the tone? as i said the sound is fantastic Reliability How has it stood up over time? for 300 bucks i would expected better, it bokr in less than a year General Your general opinion of this product. i would only use this if you were to record outdoor performances, using this indoors the vidios are blotchy,and any bright lights, even at the right settings create white out spots, but the audio part is great, i have recorded live shows, just put it on a tri pod, but vidio lacks zoom capabitities

Sound is not as good as I thought, but fair for the price and better than most of it's competition. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? The only missing feature at this range is a input or mic dial. Not a big fan of the Low, Hight and Auto. How playable do you consider this product to be? I've done a lot with this little unit and have never really needed the manual. Very easy to use interface and/or menu setup. Sound How is the tone? The built in mics are just ok. I use the input more than the mics. Guess I was hoping for something a little better. But I do use the mics from time to time, but most of what I do just seems better if I use the input feature. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Electronics = Good Plastic Casing or product = Pretty week or poor *Just be careful with it General Your general opinion of this product. Would like more control over the input or mic volume and would like to see some kind of effective stabilizer, but for the money it's really a pretty good unit.

The Handyware software included CAN NOT be used if you want to upload your video to YouTube. If you use the Handyshare, the audio and video will be out of sync. Trust me on this. You will have to edit on the camera itself, which can be a problem if you hit the wrong button. I only use it to edit length, but I lost a couple of good takes because I had to use the camera buttons to edit, and hit the wrong button at the right time. How playable do you consider this product to be? As I stated in the title, you must have good lighting to achieve the best looking HD. Other than that, frame your subject and record. Sound How is the tone? The main reason to get this unit is it's built in Stereo microphones. I constantly get compliments on my tone and sound. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I owned the SD version of this camera, and several other zoom recorders. I have not had any reliability issues. General Your general opinion of this product. It works well save for the uselessness of the included software. Edit on the camera and be carefull.

This was simple to use of the box... up and running in no time! The software comes on the SD card - so don't do what I did and start off by formatting it first - you can always d/l it from their web site! Sound How is the tone? Great - full, clear, clean. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I have no idea - I have a zoom h2 that's held up wonderfully under heavy gigging and expect this will do the same - get a case so you don't scratch up the lense!
