Hagstrom Guitars
Swedish guitar maker Hagstrom stormed the musical scene in the late 1950s with electric guitars that were unlike anything the world had ever seen: a bold fusion of metal flake, pearloid and Deco-style hardware. At a time when U.S. guitar makers were dominant, Hagstrom developed a loyal following and hasn't let up since. Hagstrom's current stable includes classic semi-acoustic jazz models like the Viking; solid-body rockers like the Swede and Super Swede; and electric basses, including the H8, which became the world's first eight-string bass when introduced five decades ago. The Hagstrom sound is instantly recognizable, made possible by the guitars' Resinator composite fretboards and H-Expander truss rods, as well as custom-wound pickups.
