Great product but not what I'm looking for.

What is your opinion of this product?

Because I tend to kick pretty hard, I purchased this item to give an extra layer of protection. Unfortunetaly, this reduced the 'tick' sound I like from my kick. If that is what you are looking for this item is awesome, but not my cup of tea.
