Product Description

The Behringer BDI21 Bass Amp Modeler Direct Recording Preamp DI Box combines the features of an active DI (direct injection) box with our proprietary tube emulation circuitry. It’s like having a truckload of vintage tube amps right at your toes! The Blend control allows you to mix the amount of tube emulation you want with your direct bass signal. And if you don’t want to use the tube emulation feature, just step on the switch and the ADI21 functions as a superb active DI box.

With its dedicated DRIVE, TREBLE, BASS, LEVEL, and PRESENCE dials, the BDI21 DI box goes above and beyond, giving you vintage tube tones for some funked-up slap, gonzo overdrive and everything in-between. You can use the BDI21 as a recording output DI, with tube emulation, or as a standard active DI box, when running in bypass mode. The output is laid out on 1/4 inch TS or balanced, gold-plated XLR connectors. There's also a ground lift switch that eliminates typical ground loop hum problems. You can power this bad boy with a 9V battery or our PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

When it comes to DI boxes, you can go with simple injection, or plug into the BDI21 to add some badass tube-like fuel injection to your bass. Try the V-TONE BASS BDI21 at your local BEHRINGER dealer and find out just how great your bass can sound.

A must have for old basses!

Product Review

I would recommend it to anyone who regularly plays an older bass that doesn't have built in electronics. It gives your sound all new dimensions that an amp. alone just can't deliver.

A Must-Have Processor for Bass

Product Review

This unit makes a decent bass sound much better, and makes a higher end bass glow. It adds musical tone control without noise, and can add a tube-like quality to the sound that adds tons of richness. The tone controls are centered where they add to (rather than ruin) the sound. At its most basic use, it is a very respectable direct box. You won't be able to touch what it can do without spending A LOT more money. Behringer really got this one right. It belongs on every bassist's pedalboard, and is the effect to own if you only have one pedal. I also have the acoustic version of this pedal, which serves my upright basses equally well.

Adds a new dimension of sound!

Product Review

Adds a whole new character to the sound of a bass. I had always been a purist, and never used any processing with my bass. But I picked up an acoustic/electric bass that is all passive, and it needed a boast when amplified. I couldn't be happier with this device!

The Most Bang for Your Buck

While it is built fine, it is made of plastic so I don't feel it would handle the rigors of being stomped on regularly. That said, it is part of my tone so I don't use the foot switch much on it.

It has all the main features of the Sansamp that it is cloning.

This is where it really shines. I find this pedal to be equal in it's general tone to the Sansamp, but I find the Behringer's distortion/overdrive tone to be superior. It is a lot less harsh and cold as the Sansamp making it easier to blend in with my clean signal to get the perfect tone. For the money, there is no better option. I would easily pay for 5 of these as opposed to 1 Sansamp. :)

Your general opinion of this product.

This product may be the best bang for the buck ever. It gives me all the bite and growl I was looking for while truly making my tone sound simply awesome! Since I have started using this at practice, my fellow band mates have commented on how bad a$$ I sound now. I love this pedal plain and simple.

The knobs have a slight resistance which gives them a nice solid feel and overall I like the feel and shape of the knobs.

Tone... well for one, there is GOBS of tone in this little box. Fat to thin, dark to bright, and all points in between! Very versatile for dialing in tones.

This is actually one of the best looking pedals Behringer has ever put out. Looks good!

It worked and well I might add!

A Good Friend

It has less noise, tube module is pretty good. good to use for home recording

The best of this is variety of knobs. you can play around. bad part is its location of power input. it's inconvenient to use with other effect pedals.

Pretty nice and pure

it was simple and solid.

It is good compare to its price. beringher always makes products cheap and good(COMPARE TO ITS PRICE).

well made with state of the art materials.

Blend and ground lift are features that make this di stand out. Size is cool too.

present tone will not overwhelm but fit right where it needs to be it is tublar in tone.

Plays well with others and has a place for the musician bag of tricks.

Tonal range is adjustable and suitable to the musicians ears with mild tweeking of the knobs

good quality and impressive looks

clean and clear very stylish.
