When enhancing the tonal quality, Blackstar’s engineering team started by benchmarking the finest vintage and new valve amps on the planet (including our own), some of which cost five times the price of HT Venue. The mission was then simple: improve on these sonic references in the way Blackstar is renowned for, and combine the sounds into a cohesive, creative product.

With that in mind, players can expect a number of enhancements from Blackstar’s new HT Venue MkII amplifiers. For starters, the clean channel now features market leading clean tones, through huge improvements in both the pure quality and the flexibility, made possible by the addition of controls for bass, treble and a footswitchable Voice switch. These improvements are sure to rank HT Venue MkII among the best of the clean valve amps.

In addition to the clean channel enhancements, players can expect richer, more complex overdrive tones from the drive channel(s) in HT Venue MkII. The drive channels are fuller and even more responsive than the original Venue series, and each overdrive channel features its own Voice switch. The high gain voices are tight and focused, drawing on the original award-winning HT Venue Series, while the mid-gain tones are perfect for those players who prefer edge of breakup tones, and then either push the amp with pedals or clean up the tones with the guitar’s volume knob.

In keeping with the Venue series’ player-centric design philosophy, all modes are footswitchable, resulting in the widest possible selection of stage-accessible valve tones. In addition, a switchable power reduction circuit is included, giving reliable, transparent attenuation down to 10% of the amp’s rated power. It’s perfect for those playing environments where volume limitations prevent other valve amps from getting to their sweet spot. For players who are doing recording sessions, the Venue MkII also includes a professional USB recording output, which is the simplest way to record authentic valve tone.

Other pro features on all Venue MkII models include a footswitchable boost on all channels, direct output with built-in speaker cabinet emulation and a studio quality reverb, newly designed in-house by the engineers at Blackstar. Lastly, all of the Venue MkII models have been reengineered physically to be more compact, lightweight, practical and portable.

Blackstar’s Venue series’ were built to outfit the widest range of players from all music genres with the best in all-valve, versatile, high-quality amplification. The Venue MkII continues with that philosophy, and makes a great amp even better.

Best tone for the price!
What is your opinion of this product?
I mainly just use the modern overdrive voicing, and the tone is amazing! Clean tones sound really smooth as well! All the power you need for most gigs.

Great amp!
What is your opinion of this product?
Only complaint is the cleans are pretty bland but the amp handles pedals so well that can be fixed right up. The drive tones are to die for! Can’t beat it for $$$ to size ratio.

FINALLY!!
What is your opinion of this product?
If you’re looking for an all tube amp with incredible tone look no further. I’ve been searching for a tube amp that had the gain and harmonics without all of the high end fizz while playing lead that many tube amps unfortunately have. I play this amp straight, with no pedals, and the tone is EPIC. I love the option to play at 4 watts so rocking out in the bedroom keeps the neighbors at bay. The ISF feature is killer. Switch between tight and controlled American tones, or huge unapologetic British sounds with the turn of the knob, and every sound in between. If your on the fence about buying this amp, go for it. You won’t regret it!! BlackStar is my first choice!

Tube Power and tone with modern essentials
What is your opinion of this product?
Clean channel has two distinctly different tones that are foot switchable. Dirty Channel has two different gain structures that are foot switchable. Country, blues, jazz, pop, rock, punk, metal are all in this amp! The speaker quality is EXCELLENT! When the gain is low to medium on the light overdrive side it cleans up quickly with the guitars volume knob. When the gain is lower on the rock side it also cleans up well. I use a boost pedal for my solos, but you can use the voice foot switch to go between four different sounds for rhythm and lead. Comes with 2 button foot switch, but you can order the 5 button for ultimate control with boost switch. A very useful feature is the front panel wattage reduction switch - which brings it from 40 watts to 4 watts. Great for practicing at home at MUCH lower volume or for small gigs! True tube amp tone with modern features like a built in USB port for recording, effects loop, speaker emulated out and more.

Awesome
What is your opinion of this product?
Love this amp in my home studio. Versatile amp that achieves both American/British tones without any struggle. No need for multiple amps with the ISF knob and voice switches that allow me to change the character of the amp. This thing is LOUD so the 4W power reduction mode is awesome for private practice without bothering anyone. Plenty of headroom and no trouble keeping up with our band live. These are high quality and high value amps at a comfortable price point for a tube amp.

Great amp for the money
What is your opinion of this product?
I have the original club 40 and it is an awesome amp. Has exactly the distortion I was looking for. I saw the upgrades on the mk2 and thought I would get another for studio work. The only thing I don't like is it seems the cab is a little smaller and doesnt quite have the bottom end as the original but I don't think you can beat this amp for the sound and features.
