    Product Description

Designed to specifically to handle solo songwriting, the Breedlove Solo 12 String acoustic electric is also capable of handling recording and live performances. It can be difficult to know exactly what sound you are projecting when playing, but the Breedlove Monitor side sound hole projects your guitar sound directly toward your ear. This gives guitarists an inside look into their own sound, allowing them to hear their performances tiniest details in an entirely new way. In addition to the solid cedar top, this acoustic electric has an extra-deep rosewood body to produce clearly articulated single notes, while at the same time the proprietary Breedlove Bridge Truss is giving additional sustain and clarity by minimizing the stress from the 12 strings on the top. The Breedlove Solo’s comfortable neck makes this guitar easy to play for extended periods both on stage and off it. Designed, engineered, and quality-controlled in Bend, Oregon, U.S.A. Crafted in Korea. Purchase this guitar and cherish it for a lifetime.

Breedlove Solo 12 String Acoustic Electric Guitar Features

    Body Shape
The Concert with soft cutaway is Breedlove’s most prevalent body shape, chosen by guitarists because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of an incredible sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when played fingerstyle, as vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum.

Western red cedar is a wonderful wood for fingerstyle players. It is softer than spruce, so it requires a careful and accurate touch, and it rewards with sweet, extended harmonic content.

    Back and Sides
Indian rosewood has been the standard rosewood choice for decades. It is often associated with the great dreadnoughts, and is an amazingly neutral wood that takes its personality from the player. Well-balanced lows, mids, and highs make it a natural for many styles.

    Hand-Crafted Neck
A satin-finished nato mahogany neck with volute makes the neck comfortable and easy to play. The volute adds strength to the break angle of the headstock. It also acts as a thumbrest for chords played in open and first positions.

    Breedlove Bridge Truss
For centuries, one of the most difficult components of crafting guitars has been relieving the stress on the bridge without overbuilding the top and dampening sound. Originally invented over 20 years ago, the Breedlove Bridge Truss is still one of the most innovative truss systems on the market today. Refined and improved over the years, the Breedlove Bridge Truss relieves stress on the top, allowing use of a thinner top, providing for greater sustain and balance, more expression from the instrument, and greater structural integrity – all while adding longevity to the instrument.

The LR Baggs Element pickup and the Breedlove LR-TCV preamp give you great plugged-in sound. The back-lit, colored LED tuner also allows you to see if you're in tune on a dark stage. This set-up lets you play with confidence, so you can focus on your performance.

    Aesthetic Appointments
Lustrous full-gloss finish, a beautiful single-ring abalone rosette, offset position markers and attractive black binding give a rich, upscale appearance.

    More than worth the money

What is your opinion of this product?
Guitar and case are both of a good quality. Action is not too high and the neck is not too wide or too thick. It actually sounds better through an amp than acoustic. One draw back and your tech department was wrong, the plug for the amp is through the strap button, I was led to believe that it was a separate plate below the strap button like the Ibenez or the Pilot from Breedlove. I can live with it but would have preferred a different location for the amp plug in.

We have had many brand name guitars in this family. This one is the biggest bang for the buck.

    Simply lush
What is your opinion of this product?
My first 12 string and my first Breedlove and I am very impressed. Wood and finish are gorgeous. I was hesitant at first about the side sound hole. The rubber sound hole plug is not as obtrusive as appears in the pictures and slips in easy enough even when new and stiff (as long as you start from the fat end of the plug taking it out and replace it pointy end first). What you hear playing is amazingly different with the plug in or out. The neck is noticeably wider than a standard 6 string but easy to adapt to. And the sound is simply lush when strumming, articulate when fingerpicking. Fairly bright sound with the stock strings. I have not played it plugged in yet so we will see what the electronics are capable of. To put my comments in context: I play at an average level, a couple times a year for paid gigs but mostly open mic and personal enjoyment. I own/play Martin, Taylor, and Baden 6 string acoustics, Carvin electric, Warwick bass, Weber mando, and Lo Gordon banjo.

What is your opinion of this product?
Hard to put down. Only thing that worried me was it appeared it had been removed from the shipping carton as the plastic bag the guitar was in was ripped, there were also multiple blacked out previous shipping labels, like it had been returned. Also the strings had a sorta rust or something on them at the fret areas like someone had played it fr awhile and never cleaned the strings. However, AMS said they would replace it but it was a hassle to send it back so I'm keeping it, it has a 2 year warranty anyway. I must say, it plays like a dream. Sound is stellar and the feel is like it was custom made for me. I've ordered new strings and I did not find any defects in the guitar anywhere. I also am aware that the manufacturer does build out of the country but brings their guitars into the the States, Oregon I think, and there they check and set them up. JUST BUY ONE, YOU WON"T REGRET IT AND THEY AGE TO PERFECTION OVER TIME.

Haven't been able to put it down!
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar far exceeds my expectations. The neck and tone especially. The tone is really noticibly "clearer" than all my other and former acoustic guitars and the satin finish on the neck has the best feel of any satin finish neck I've ever had. The top has a gorgeous kind of "Butterscotch" color and the sides and back wood grain is most beautiful. The electronics are outstanding also, and the backlit LED tuner is way cooler than I thought it would be. It shows up and down arrows to tune higher or lower and when the string is in tune the screen turns from an orange color to green, so you don't need to be looking right at the display to see the tuning change from "out" to "in tune". The action is slightly higher than I would prefer, however I can't stop playing the guitar long enough to make any adjustments just yet. Plugged in to a Fender Acoustisonic 150 this guitar sounds amazing. Again, I'm very impressed with the guitar and the electronics. Also, the "hard" gig bag rocks!
