Product Description

The 100-watt Fullback has a big, deep voice, delivering smooth and expressive tones with a larger cone resulting in an extended low end response seemingly without effort. Clean sounds are warm and expressive, revealing and enhancing the qualities of your amp and guitar without unnecessary coloration.

While retaining the classic, harmonically complex and finely detailed mid-range, the larger 15 inch cone of the Fullback shifts this characteristic down a register. Overdrive sounds are complex and musical; push harder for a weighty, contralto growl, with a softer, warmer midrange. Incorporating an eight hole chassis, the Fullback is the ideal choice whether you’re looking for the perfect upgrade for your 15 inch combo, or you’re looking for an interesting tonal alternative to a 12 inch speaker.

Product Review

This may very well be the best sounding speaker I've ever heard personally in my life. I had to grab one of these after seeing Johan Segeborn demo it on Youtube. He lauded it as being the best new Celestion speaker since 1973 - lofty claim. After dropping this in my Surpo Thunderbolt MKII amp, I would have to agree entirely with that sentiment. The stock Eminence was, in itself a great speaker, but there was maybe a tiny bit too much bass response and not enough breakup at mid volume settings, so I wanted to try the Fullback. This thing did EXACTLY what I needed it to; increased the midrange bite, in true Celestion style, but with much tighter bass control and high end clarity. Not only does it give me great amp distortion at a lower volumes, the breakup is not so much that you cant use a pedalboard effectively. I plan to build a big closed back cab for the Eminence and mod the Supro with a second output jack and run these in parallel to give me a good mix of the two. Get one!

More dynamic then you expect!!

Product Review

I originally purchased these after hearing the Friedman Butterslax amp and it's accompanying 212 215 oversized cabinet. WOW...what a full dynamic range! I didn't have the $3,600 to buy the Butterslax or the $1,500 for the cab, so I decided to take 2 1x12 oversized open back cabinets I had made by Blackstar and purchase these speakers from American Musical. After making a new baffle for the 15" to fit I paired one cabinet and a 1x12 Mesa Thiele cabinet with my '79 Marshall JMP(molded to high gain by Mark Cameron) and the same cab configuration with my 100 watt Framus Cobra head. Sounded awesome! I had alot of fun with that configuration. But when the REAL magic happened was when during a break at band practice I decided to just run the 15" Fullback speakers only. The sound was HUGE! The drummer came back from the break and all the sudden he's like, "did you just do something to your amp set up??" And you know if the drummer notices and says it sounds awesome, you know you're on to something! You would think they'd be muddy and woofy because they're 15's but they handle bass awesome! I haven't played on a 12" speaker now for months. Awesome.
