    Product Description

D’Angelico Guitars of America is proud to reintroduce this unique member of the D'Angelico family of guitars. The standard series Style B features an amazingly detailed headstock inlay design. There is also a distinctive ‘Style B’ logo on the pick guard. The Style B has a slightly smaller body and neck profile then the other archtops in our standard series line up. The non-cutaway guitar features a beautiful vintage sunburst spruce top and a 24.75 inch scale length.

The standard series Style B is adorned with all of the accoutrements of its iconic predecessors including the signature stairstep pickguard and tailpiece and a unique and distinctive mother-of-pearl inlay headstock design. The fretboard features mother-of-pearl square block inlays.

A floating pickup with volume and tone controls mounted on the pick guard rounds out the electronics. Some additional modern appointments have been added including a truss rod with a distinct Art Deco truss rod cover, and Gold Grover Super Rotomatic tuners. A deluxe hardshell case is included.

What is your opinion of this product?
The guitar's workmanship and finish are perfect. It arrived with the neck straight and bridge perfectly intonated. I changed the lighter gauge strings it came with for flatwounds and didn't have to make any adjustments. The tone is warm and soft, more like an amplified archtop guitar than the other D'Angelico models I have, the EXL-1 and EX-59. Acoustically it is well balanced and produces a good tone. I don't miss having a cutaway and the 24 3/4" scale is comfortable. The sunburst finish is nicely done with subtle graduation of color. It has a vintage color, not yellow or orange. The attention to detail is superb, including the ornate inlay on the headstock and pickguard scroll. I've seen a couple descriptions online that are inaccurate as to the size of the body. The lower bout is a full 17". The upper bout is 12 1/4", about 1/2" smaller than the EXL-1 and the f-holes are also smaller. I play jazz and enjoy the tone and vintage looks of this guitar.
