Product Description

The MXR design team has collaborated with Eddie Van Halen to deliver a full range of powerful saturation and hyper driven tones right at your feet. The resulting EVH 5150 Overdrive joins hand-adjusted multi-stage MOSFETs with a full complement of controls to deliver overdriven tube-like tones and exceptional sonic flexibility through a wide variety of amps and speaker cabinets.

Whether on stage or in the studio, the EVH 5150 Overdrive’s controls dial up the whole spectrum—from Eddie’s groundbreaking early classic tones to the high gain, super-articulate sound he uses today. Output and Gain controls set your volume and distortion levels, while the 3-band passive tone stack EQ section shapes your sound to taste. The Boost switch kicks the 5150 Overdrive into high gear with extra gain and compression, and the Gate control—powered by the Smart Gate circuit—tames unwanted noise.

The 5150 Overdrive features true bypass switching and comes in a road-worthy housing emblazoned with custom EVH artwork.

This thing sounds AMAZING!

Product Review

Tried one at the local guitar shop today and I've gotta say, it's awesome. I use a Krank Rev SST live and the Krank Channel just doesn't have enough gain for what I play. Took my head and guitar to the shop, plugged this bad boy into the front of the head and put it on the Klean channel. Turned up the volume and I was hooked. Literally plugged it in and it sounded great without even tweaking it. But once I dialed in a tone, that was it. I'm sold. Definitely ordering one right now lol.

Product Review

I literally received this pedal the day of rehearsal had no time to even mess with it took it straight there unpacked it and BAM it was on the pedal board. I adjusted maybe a few knobs for about 5 minutes and let me tell you..........it lives up to the expectations.

Best OD Pedal Ever

Product Review

This lil pedal has some of the best sounds ever heard. From light od to full on metal. I can play blues, rock, hard rock, classical rock, metal all with this pedal. The gain knob is where the magic happens and the included smart gate is like getting 2 pedals in 1.

Very happy with this product.

Product Review

I was very pleased with this pedal overall. I played the box through a Marshall JVM215 and EVH striped series guitar. I was really happy with the tone achieved with this set up!Easy to use, Lots of gain. The pedal has basic tone controls with the addition of a extra boost button. when pressed there is a noticeable punch to the sound of the overdrive. The housing is very solid and will take some abuse. There is also a noise gate button that performs as advertised. You can use 9volt battery or use an adapter if that is your preference. The only downside is the price about 200 dollars. For the average guitar player that's a big hit to the wallet. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend this product!

Love it

Product Review

I play through the peavey 6505+ and this is in my effects chain. It definitely gives my sound more depth but its powerful and with my rig you just gotta be gentle with the levels.
