Bombshell!

This is a very well made bass although I feel it shold have had a set neck.Once I plugged it in to my rig The sound and playability made all the knit picking seem irevelant.

The best cosmetic feature is the iron cross inlays but the playability and sound are the best. I like the toggle switch cut out but a turned it around so that down was on and up was off.

Fantastic lows with punch mids and articulate highs.Mainly a real thumper.

It is a very light bass, I put the straplock closer to the neck plate to prevent neck dive.

Good all around tone with punchy boomin lows.

Although the bass looks great I found a few very minor finish flaws.

The action and playability were awesome out of the box I was very impressed. The frets were dressed very nicely.

Are you serious?????

This is one killer bass!!! Epiphone has outdone themselves on this one. They make great guitars, the Les Pauls are beautiful, the Slash Models are wonderful, and the Thunderbirds are loud and thumpy, but this thing KILLS!!!!! I still cant believe how good this is.

The on off switch is the greatest thing on earth. Just a flick of the switch, everything goes.

Oh my God!!!! The sound???? Its the way a rock and roll bass should sound, mean, raw, and nasty!!!!!!!

This thing is great. Plays well, superfast neck, not heavy at all, and nothing is in the way, just turn it on and rock.

Raw and Loud, You cant adjust the tone or volume, which is the thing i lllloooovvvvvveeeeeee about this bass. Its a rock mans bass!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful smooth NON GLOSS, BEAUTIFUL FLAT BLACK, AWESOME FINISH. Its eye candy, and its one sweet lookin bass!

Sleek, slim, perfection, but you should have it setup like with any guitar or bass. Its a preference to each his own.

A GREAT bass!

This bass is as great quality as any $1200 bass.

The cross inlays I like the most...SIXX pick-ups are perfect.

Sounds as great as the Gibson model. I personally have played a few of them from the Memphis factory years ago when the Gibson model was newly released.

Fretboard action is great with NO buzzing.

Tone is perfect....I love the fact the top E does not over power the rest....tone is equal.

Looks great as everyone will tell you if you buy one.

I love anything NEW out of the box!....

Why this is the only bass I will ever play again!

An Exceptional piece of craftsmanship, a true testament to how far a lot of companies have come in the past few years. Don't worry about the fact that it Ephiphone is now Gibson's 'low line' or that it was built in Korea. I own 2 of these and neither has let me down in over 100 shows, and 3 tours.

All hail the purification of the bass. No pointless knobs, no batteries, no useless EQ's and nothing to adjust. The controls are idiot proof. One switch just as the rock god Mr. Syxx intended it. This ROCK MONSTER is the 0 to 100 MPH in 3 seconds drag car of bass!

Designed for kick you in the face down and dirty bass playing. The Blackbird can grind out the low end of pocket styled bass playing better then anything built for twice the cash. This isn't your dads jazz bass, you aren't going to need 500 dollars of sound re-enforcement to get that non-classic low end growl and click in the highs you want.

The bass is a bit on the big and heavy side, with a lean toward the head stock. To me those are benefits. You just have to have to buy a good wide strap and locks and this baby will take care of you. The neck has that thin super 70's close sting spaced long scaled feel to it. Just lean back and enjoy the already broken in feel of a ride. The controls are just one switch, if you can't figure that out yo are not smart enough to be playing.

The DEEP SYXX pick ups are awesome! Dark heavy very thick bottom end, with a grinding metal edge to it. If you want that tinny, no balls sound, buy another bass. This thing is Rock and Metal all the way!

Flat black is flat out awesome. A paint job designed to be ridden hard and put away wet. Mine have resisted blood, sweat and nightly beatings and still look great. Nothing shinny except the clear pick guard just as it was meant to be. Hands down one of the coolest set of finger board inlays you can ever get.

Every bass needs to be set up out the box, I don't care who makes it. A twist here and a turn there, nothing you can't do at home with an allen key and a screwdriver. I tune way below E so I adjusted both of my basses to get used to the super low tuning in about half an hour for the pair including the intonation and the string hight. I was able to lower the action on it to a breath above the neck with no click on the pick ups.

awesome look

love the look and feel of this bass I am not a bass player I play guitar but i had to have this bass when I saw it

Your general opinion of this product.

when i received this bass it had very bad fret buzz but after a little tweak of the truss rod it plays great and sounds great

thick sound

love it the finish it had a couple of small flaws in the neck paint kinds like dirt in the pain not very noticeable though

bad fret buzz badly top and bottom strings almost fretted out on first fret but after a little tweak of the truss rod all is fine I was going to return it because I did not want to make any adjustments to a new bass but i adjusted truss rod and all is well your return policy is awesome though no problems at all thyey emailed me the return authorization with no problems but then i changed my mind and kept it

The Blackbird is made to rock, and it does it well

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This bass is very well made, very solid, and plays great. It is quite heavy, so I would not recommend it for smaller players. The neck is really nice, very thin at the nut like a jazz bass but with a rounder profile. It is a bit unusual, but I like it

FEATURES:
The Blackbird is a very simple axe. A big slab of mahogony with two high output humbuckers, and an on-off switch! Good tuners, good bridge, nice frets, cool inlays. I have no idea what the opti- grab handle is for. I love the satin black finish and the clear plexi-glass pick guard.

EASE OF USE:
Aside from the weight, and being slightly neck heavy, this bass is very easy to use. Get some straplocks. Having no knobs at all makes it for me. It is what it is, a metal bass.

VALUE:
The guys in my band thought I paid 1000 bucks for the Blackbird. $399 is a steal, trust me!

SOUND:
The best thing about this bass is the sound. It has an ideal

Complete Bass Assult...

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This is a great bass. Sounds like a monster coming through an Ampeg SVT head and 8x10 cab.. This thing is a absolute Killer!!!! The only thing i would change and did change was the strings....

FEATURES:
Features? This bass was made to ROCK!!! who needs anything more? Rock is about being loud aggressive and always on 10, your either on on your off. Same with this bass

EASE OF USE:
It is a bit neck heavy, but that's what the OptiGrab handle is for. Lock your pinkie finger in place and alls good....

VALUE:
I would have paid 3-4 times the amount for this bass.

SOUND:
Monstrous.....

Blackbird Review

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
The quality is top notch , just as you would expect with any epiphone , No bad qualities to be seen

FEATURES:
The on/off switch , no volume or tone controls to mess with , perfect for a rock bass

EASE OF USE:
By far one of the nicest made basses ive played in some time very slim and fast playable neck , the flat black paint seem to be alot easier on the hands than the typical stained neck of the Thunderbird

VALUE:
The price is right inline with other basses in its class , if it was to cost much more i would expect a set neck instead of the bolt on

SOUND:
The natural sound of the "Deepsixx' pickups are perfect for just about any style music

Quality what Does It Mean for You?

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I would have to Rate the Quality Control a 3 due to the fact that the fretboard had several Imperfections. Several Dings, Blotches, Uneven areas that were covered by a Neutral colored stain to hide these Imperfections - after a few days of playing the instrument the stain wore off revealing the said Imperfections.
