Product Description

Epiphone presents the Blueshawk Deluxe, the long awaited return of an original classic first introduced in the 90’s that’s been a connoisseur’s favorite ever since. The Blueshawk Deluxe features the upper bout curve and cutaway of a Les Paul but with the semi-hollowbody design and small f-holes of an archtop. The result is one of the most versatile and distinctive guitars anywhere. And now the Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe features new P-90 PRO Single Coil pickups plus a 6-position Rotary VariTone.

Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe Electric Guitar Features

  • Mahogany body with contoured back
  • Maple top with AAA Flame Maple Veneer
  • Mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • Epiphone P-90 pickups
  • Epiphone Limited Lifetime Warranty
The Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe features a Mahogany body with a contoured back and a Maple top with an AAA Flame Maple Veneer. Both the body and the neck feature single-ply cream binding. The Blueshawk comes in beautiful color finishes.

The Mahogany neck has a classic Epiphone SlimTaper D-shape profile with a 25.5” scale. The Blueshawk Deluxe has a smooth Rosewood fretboard with pearloid “Diamond” inlays, a 12” radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets. The f-holes and semi-hollowbody construction along with the “Les Paul” style cutaway make the Blueshawk Deluxe well balanced and easy to play with exceptional tone and range for chords and leads.

Epiphone P-90 PRO single coil pickups have been designed and tooled from the ground up with new bobbins manufactured to historic dimensions, Elektrisola magnet wire, sand cast Alnico V magnets, and pole shoes manufactured using correct alloys to original classic Gibson dimensions. And for you sticklers to detail, the new Epiphone P-90 PROs also have tin plated brass base plates like those used on 50s and 60s era Gibson P-90 pickups.

Along with exceptional power, the Blueshawk Deluxe also offers one-of-a-kind tonal flexibility. The 6-position Rotary VariTone provides a player with a wide tonal palette unavailable on most other instruments. The Varitone circuit is a "notch" filter that uses a range of capacitors to achieve a reduction in frequencies at set points within the BluesHawk's overall frequency spectrum. As the VariTone control is rotated from position 1 to position 6 the center frequency of the filter shifts from higher to lower frequencies. In position 1 the filter is removed from the circuit. Controls include a Master Volume and a Master Tone with an easy to access Push/Pull VariTone True Bypass.

The Epiphone Blueshawk Deluxe features a fully-adjustable Epiphone nickel bridge with a string-thru body design for incredible sustain. Tuning and intonation is made easy thanks to Epiphone Deluxe machine heads with a pro quality 18:1 tuning ratio.

decent, cool guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
I got mine the other day. I had to set it up and intonate and lower the action. When set up it is easy to play and definitely a "lead" player with the flatter, wider neck. It is very light and comfortable and is nice looking. The pickups are very high output and bright. They are "vintage" in name but I actually had to lower them to tame them a bit. They sound nice and wont replace them though. The veritone is okay. It makes some old 50's sounds if you like it. However, I liked the last position which sounds like my coiled tapped guitar. sounds like it cuts it by 30 percent which is useful live when I want a thinner, funk sound. Tone knob is bad and I'm replacing it. It doesn't taper much and sucks the high end at low settings. My only real complaint but in general this is unique guitar and a nice change from my usual fenders. I good lead guitar for a sore back for sure

Great guitar at a decent price!
What is your opinion of this product?
I was missing that P90 sound (I used to have a Gibson SG special with P90s), when I saw the Blues Hawk with the Varitone. I thought this would be exactly what I was looking for for Blues and Classic Rock, and it is. The P90s in this thing are great, and the dummy coil make it way quieter than my SG Special was. It has become my main guitar even though I own a more expensive Ibanez Iron Lable H_S_H pick up configured guitar with Dimarzios. The Ibanez neck is much faster, but I just love the sound of the Blues Hawk. My only negative comment would be regarding the tuning machines, not a fan of those classic Kluson imitations, but it does stay in tune pretty well.

THE BLUES AND SO MUCH MORE
What is your opinion of this product?
I wanted a versatile guitar with single coil pickups to add to my "guitarsenal". I cover a wide range of styles from rock to blues to country and jazz and I needed to get some more jangle and twang in my mix. The Blueshawk Deluxe fills that roll nicely. The build quality of mine is excellent and the rich midnight sapphire blue finish is quite stunning to say the least! The one hiccup was the intonation which wasn't even close. However, once I dialed that in, the Blueshawk came alive and played beautifully up and down the neck. Single notes and chords rang clear without harshness or muddiness regardless of volume, tone, or pickup selection. The "Varitone" selector will take some time to get used to though. The P90 pickups are powerful and every bit as loud as most humbuckers I've encountered. I am very pleased with my Blueshawk and highly recommend it. You cant go wrong with A.M.S. either!

This thing Screams!
What is your opinion of this product?
I have been wanting a Blues Deluxe since this most recent release I am primarily a Bass player but recently have been playing more guitar & this guitar has all of the things I like in a guitar; I have been playing Semi-Hollowbody guitars & I have been Loving P90 pickups; besides those 2 main requirements, this guitar fits well when I am holding it, just like a newborn baby; it's got a great neck & since I had some modifications done to my Marshall DSL15 head with the vertical slant cabinet (I also replaced the speakers with Celestion G12T-75 12" speakers)this guitar is the icing on the cake. Both the clean & OD channels sound great! I found a case that I had been using for my Epiphone Nighthawk (that I just sold)& kept the case because I had heard it was hard to find a case that fit right.I couldn't be happier!

Wow, this Epiphone BluesHawk is as beautiful as it sounds
What is your opinion of this product?
I bought the trans black one and she's a beauty. With the different settings you can go from country to metal with the flip of the switch. If this would have been my first guitar it probably would have been the last. It does way more than I could imagine. Just think your in buying a new amp and have no clue about 1/2 the knobs and there's 18 or more. Well the Blues Hawk is very similar. After hours and hours of playing with her I still found different settings and ways to bend the sound, AMAZING... Look out Gibson .....I have 1 Gibson and 4 epiphones. This blueshawk kicks butt and stays in tune, awesome...I highly recommend this guitar to anyone any level too. Thank you Epiphone....this is an amazing guitar for the price too..

I don't like it........I LOVE IT!!!
What is your opinion of this product?
I've been playing a Nighthawk for the past year, but mostly used it split coil. The Blueshawk's P90 pick ups are perfect for me. It's lighter than the Nighthawk (BIG PLUS) I've had it for a week and haven't even explored the Varitone yet.........
