Product Description

In 1958 the first Flying Vs were made and only 91 were produced. Joe Bonamassa’s remarkable Amos Flying V was one of them and is one of his most priced guitars in his extensive collection. The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa 1958 Amos Korina Flying-V is Bonamassa’s fifth custom Epiphone signature model and honors his ‘V’ with pro-grade features to satisfy the most discerning players. Featuring Epiphone ProBucker pickups, CTS electronics, a LockTone ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, and a 50s style Flying-V case along with a certificate of authenticity signed by Joe himself!

The Amos Flying V: Joe Bonamassa is not only one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, but is also recognized as one of the most knowledgeable collectors of vintage guitars. The new Ltd. Ed. 1958 Amos Korina Flying-V is based on Bonamassa’s priceless original Flying-V first purchased by Arthur Amos’s music store in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1958. Bonamassa worked closely with Epiphone’s luthiers in Nashville to ensure that every detail of the original was reproduced accurately.

Tone Rich Korina Body: The new Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 1958 Amos has a body and neck made from tone rich Korina (African Limba) wood and has a Rounded C-1958 neck profile measured from Bonamassa’s original vintage guitar. The 5-layer black and white pickguard is also cut to the same specs as his vintage Flying-V. The neck is glued to the body with a deep-set neck joint and has a Pau Ferro fretboard with a 24.75 inch scale, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 12 inch radius. The neck has an adjustable truss rod with a gold plated Amos Arthur engraving on the cover. The headstock has the classic Flying-V profile with a raised Epiphone logo.

Epiphone PAF-inspired ProBucker Pickups: Joe Bonamassa is a big fan of Epiphone’s critically acclaimed ProBucker pickups, which accurately re-create the tone of first generation humbuckers found in late 50s Les Pauls, 335s, and Flying-Vs. ProBucker pickups feature the same components and materials as vintage humbuckers including sand cast Alnico II magnets, 18% Nickel Silver unit bases and covers, and high quality 4 conductor lead wire. Each ProBucker humbucker pickup is also vacuum wax potted to eliminate microphonics. Controls include our USA designed, heavy-duty 3-way pickup selector with an Amber toggle cap and volume controls for the bridge and neck along with a master tone. All controls have CTS potentiometers and Black Top Hat Knobs.

Classic Flying V Hardware: The Ltd. Ed. 1958 Amos Korina Flying-V comes with period correct gold hardware including a 1958-style V metal plate tailpiece mounted with Escutcheon nails along with a LockTone ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge. A late 50s period correct hard case is included along with a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by Joe Bonamassa in a presentation binder.

Lifetime Warranty: All Epiphones come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson Brands’ legendary 365/24/7 Customer Service. The Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa 1958 Amos Korina Flying-V is available at Authorized Epiphone Dealers but only for a limited time. And Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Signature guitars don’t last long! Amazed by the quality and sound

What is your opinion of this product?
This was my first purchase of a signature series Epiphone. I have owned vintage Gibsons from 59 to the 70s, boutique hand built guitars, etc. I play mostly blues and rock and have been playing on and off since the mid-'80s. I was truly impressed by the craftsmanship. The fit and finish were top notch. The fret ends were perfect and the guitar didn't need a setup when I first took it out of the case. The guitar is surprisingly comfortable, it is light and fits nicely when I am seated. The pickups and electronics sound great, I may swap the pickups, but just for personal preference, not due to a lacking pickup. I was shocked by how much sustain the guitar has, it just wouldn't stop, love it!

Great reproduction of a Vintage V
What is your opinion of this product?
I have seen and played several vintage Flying V's and this one is a great reproduction. The neck shape is wide and flat very easy to play. Guitar sounds amazing with CTS pots and Probuckers. Epiphone has done a great job with the Probucker line, they are very close to Gibson's Burstbucker and 57 classic line. Case is amazing and looks cool. Overall a great guitar, one you can keep forever. A few upgrades if you want and its as good as any Gibson Flying V. Only thing I don't enjoy on Epiphones are the thick poly finish, otherwise amazing guitar for price.

So glad I bought this!
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar is beautiful and plays great with awesome tone. It's much lighter than I expected and takes a minute to get used to when strapped takes 2 minutes to get comfortable when seated. I got it now and I love playing it. Great action right out of the box. First artist model I've purchased and I was skeptical but lived up to my expectations. The only issue I had was the protective film adhesive left a lot of residue on the tailpiece and I wasn't sure what would be safe to use to remove it without harming the metal but customer service helped me and all was good.

Great guitar for the money
What is your opinion of this product?
This a great guitar for the money. First off all it looks great and you'll be impressed when you open the custom case it ships in. The playability was great right out of the case. You could upgrade the pickups and wiring, but stock it is pretty darn good. I checked it over from top to bottom and there are absolutely no finish flaws. It stays in tune after long periods of playing. Buy it as a collector's item or buy it to play. In my opinion you can't go wrong at this price.

Eye and finger candy
What is your opinion of this product?
Never even played a V before acquiring this one. Took a rehearsal or 2 to acclimate to how it hangs, small thing. Very inspiring feel and sound. And visually stunning. I own a stable of LPs of varied finishes and this instrument has gotten more comments from musicians and audience alike. Setup was superb right out of the case. Absolutely killer tone from the pickups. Highly recommended !!!!

Worth the extra money over the standard Epi
What is your opinion of this product?
Fit and finish are beautiful, pickups are top notch, no need for replacement. Standard epi humbuckers are usually grossly overwound and sound horrible for anything besides death metal. These pickups are close to paf sound. Case is top quality.

Definately Worth It !
What is your opinion of this product?
Quality guitar for the money. I finally had a chance to spend a few hours with this axe and at first was wondering who or what player/band from the classic days I could compare the tone to. Then it hit me, Wishbone Ash. Andy Powell played one of the earlier V's. If your not familiar, listen to " Blowin' Free " . I have to say this guitar nails it. The tone that is. As for looks, construction, and feel it knocks it out of the park in those regaurds also. The neck is a little wider than most of the more populer modern guitars being offered today but then again it,s a repro of a 58. After an hour of playing it began to feel very comfortable to these hands. Also would like to note this is very light as far as weight. All in all I am very pleased with this and consider this one to be a keeper. Thank's AMS for getting it to me within 24 hours and all the past transactions we share!

Not a keeper.
What is your opinion of this product?
I received my Banamassa V and found it had a crack on the neck where it joins the body and the pickup selector switch would not stay in the down position. Other than that it’s nice to look at. Pretty case except the lid and body don’t line up. Poor quality.
