Product Description

Epiphone and Lee Malia of Bring Me the Horizon are proud to announce his Signature LE Explorer Custom Artisan guitar. To get his signature tone, Epiphone used Gibson USA pickups with coil-tapping to produce that iconic powerful heavy sound.

Lee Malia Explorer Custom Artisan Guitar
Designed with Lee Malia of Bring Me the Horizon
Featuring Gibson USA P-94 and 84T-LM humbucker with coil-splitting
Artisan inlay and gold hardware
"Lee Malia" signature on back of headstock
"Limited Edition" logo on back of headstock
Custom gigbag and hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity

Epiphone presents the Ltd. Ed. Lee Malia Explorer Custom Artisan Outfit, designed with Lee Malia of Bring Me the Horizon. Featuring the classic Explorer profile in Lee’s signature Walnut finish with a Gibson USA P-94 single coil and 84T-LM™ humbucker pickup, vintage style “Artisan” inlay, and custom gigbag with hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.

The New Sound of Rock and Pop
Bring Me the Horizon is one of the fastest rising music groups in the world and Lee Malia has emerged as one of the leading guitarists of his generation. Like Lee’s Epiphone Les Paul Artisan, the new Ltd. Ed. Lee Malia Explorer Custom Artisan Outfit features another classic “Kalamazoo” era design—the Explorer--in a beautiful Walnut finish with Ivory and Black binding on the body and headstock along with an “Artisan” floral inlay in pearloid on a smooth Pau Ferro fingerboard. The Mahogany body has a Maple top to add bite to the tone. The Mahogany neck has a “1959” Rounded “C” profile with a 24.75” scale length. The black Explorer-style headstock has a pearloid “Epiphone” logo in 60s era typeface with a “Lee Malia” signature inlay on the back.

Gibson USA Pickups with Coil-Splitting
To get his distinctive tone, Lee Malia prefers the combination of a sensitive P-94 single coil pickup for rhythm and a powerful Gibson 84T-LM™ humbucker for leads. In between the two pickups under the pickguard is a "Dummy Coil" that cancels the “hum” when in single-coil mode. Three traditional “TopHat” knobs with metal inserts control neck volume, bridge volume, and master tone. The bridge volume also serves as a coil-spitting control (via a push/pull switch) so the humbucker can also be used as a single-coil pickup.

Epiphone Rock Solid Hardware
Lee Malia’s Explorer Custom Artisan features stylish gold hardware including premium 14:1 ratio die-cast machine heads with "tulip" buttons, Epiphone straplocks, plus Epiphone’s road worthy exclusive non-rotating, heavy duty output jack with a metal output jack plate. Set up and intonation is easy thanks to the classic combo of a LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece. The black Explorer pickguard has a white 3-way pickup selector switch. A custom gigbag and a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by Lee Malia are also included.

Lifetime Warranty
The Ltd. Ed. Lee Malia Explorer Custom Artisan Outfit comes with Epiphone’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson’s legendary 365/24/7 Customer Service.

I was pretty amazed with this explorer , compared to my other goth explorer , this one is special from the weight releif , to the coil tap for the clean intros , then the Gibson bucker has ability to melt faces !!!! And the beautiful inlays in the fretboard , down to the binder , and gold hardware , only thing I changed was the strings to 11s, (personal preference) @AMS also gets the 5 star from , me quickest ship I've ever seen , customer service is top notch , professional , easy to deal with, and have all the answers!! This is the only place I'll shop from here on our !!!! Look no further !!!

Great Value

Product Review

Really good guitar for the money. Showed up at my door in 2 days, no damage or anything like that. Intonation was almost spot on right out of the box. Really fun to play, feels really good. It's definitely a neat guitar you don't see everyday, and the pickups sound killer! The neck pickup is extremely quiet and gives a different vibe to a metal guitar. The pictures definitely don't do it justice, it looks amazing. If you're a fan of Bring Me The Horizon or if you're just looking for an explorer with a different vibe, get it.

Not your dad's Explorer, this one is better.

Product Review

Big and heavy like a bass, but worth it. Tonal options like no other guitar I've owned, I'd love to get one of the humbuckers that are unique to this guitar. The "dummy coil" works to a degree and makes the P90 useable.

It’s A Beautiful Guitar...

Product Review

I love this guitar. I’ve been struggling to find a brand new one; that is until I came to AMS. This guitar is amazing- perfect, but there are a few problems. There’s something strange with the fretboard that I don’t full understand. When bending the strings while playing they sound like they scratching on something. There is a little problem with fret buzz too, but it’s not that bad. There is also a superficial crack in the finish near the low E string by the nut. I find it weird, because I’ve seen 3 of these guitar and they all have that crack in the same spot. Overall, I love this guitar. Thank you, AMS & Epiphone. Sincerely, Omiee

Love it more than my Gibson

Product Review

Every one has their taste and feel for guitar. For me, this is the ultimate guitar. It sounds great. It feels great. it looks classy and cool at the same time. The hard case is a must buy to keep this beauty looking at its best. i feel bad because i had only just gotten a Gibson 2016 Les Paul studio and that will be sitting in its case because this Epiphone is well worth more than the 800 its sold for. Negatives - a shame it does not come with a hard case, a slightly custom case to go along with it would have made this a dream package. - The tunning pegs are quite close together. you have to grab the peg sort of near the tip because it does not allow room for your finger to turn it comfortably.

Very impressed.

Product Review

First of all, AMS delivery was a day early. And the guitar, in my opinion is very nice. Fit and finish is very good. The balance of the guitar is awesome. But the pickup combination is pretty sweet. Through my old Peavy amp this guitar sounds great. Very good sustain. And I was able to go from heavy crunch with the humbucker to a great mild tone with the P90. And am still experimenting with the combinations of sounds that this instrument can produce. I'm not going to change a thing. I like this guitar just the way it is. If you are a explorer guy you should check this one out. The only downside to the package is the cheesy gig bag. A guitar of this quality definitely belongs in a hard case. So plan on that if you buy one.
