Product Description

Featuring Alnico Classic PRO pickups and push/pull coil-tapping, the Epiphone G400 PRO Electric Guitar pays tribute to classic SG design but with an added flair that makes it a true player's dream. The Epiphone G400 PRO guitar gives you the sound and look of a real SG without the vintage price tag and with the added tonal variety of single coil tones thanks to its coil tapping!

Epiphone G400 PRO Electric Guitar Features

  • Alnico Classic PRO 4-wire humbuckers for huge tone and great dynamic range
  • Push/pull coil tapping for each pickup via volume knobs for single coil tones
  • Lighter weight Wilkinson Vintage Classic tuners makes it perfectly balanced
  • SlimTaper 'D' profile mahogany neck with a 24.75 inch scale
  • 22 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard with 12 inch radius
Built for Classic SG Performance
The Epiphone G400 PRO is inspired by the late '60s era SGs and uses the same dimensions and build techniques as vintage SGs made in the Kalamazoo, Michigan, factory during that classic era. The solid, tone-rich mahogany carved body gives the G400 PRO a balanced feel on stage and in the studio.

The SlimTaper 'D' profile mahogany neck has a 24.75 inch scale with 22 frets and a 12 inch radius fingerboard for incredible reach thanks to the SG's classic cutaway. And for that one-of-a-kind SG feel, the Epiphone G400 PRO has a Pau Ferro fingerboard with a 1.68 inch nut. The truss rod cover is the classic Kalamazoo bell shape with SG PRO in white.

Alnico Classic PRO Power
Epiphone always finds a way to make improvements on their classic designs and the G400 PRO is no exception. Now featuring Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO 4-wire humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, the G400 PRO offers a tonal palette that far exceeds any other guitar of its kind. The Alnico Classic PROs feature Alnico V magnets for terrific humbucker sustain with a huge dynamic range that can go from clean to crunch. The G400 PRO features coil-tapping on both pickups via a push/pull control on the pickups’ volume controls.

Epiphone Hardware You Can Trust
Epiphone provides quality, all-metal hardware on all its instruments including full-function volume and tone knobs using full-size 500K ohm potentiometers matched with Epiphone's rugged, all-metal, 3-way toggle pickup selector switch for long-lasting performance. The G400 PRO features the famous LockTone bridge and Stopbar tailpiece which yields incredible sustain along with Wilkinson Vintage Classic 14:1 tuners for lifetime security.

The SG Story
When the SG, or 'Solid Guitar' was introduced in 1961 as a replacement for the Les Paul Standard, it was called the ‘fretless wonder’ for its low frets and fast action. The twin horn cutaway design was like nothing on the market and its light but balanced weight made it the perfect guitar for stage and studio work. Later '60s models introduced the SG with humbucker pickups, and since then, the SG has became the go-to guitar for artists like The Who's Pete Townshend, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Paul Weller, AC/DC's Angus Young, Eric Clapton and Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band.

Stoked!!

Product Review

I received my EpiPhone G400 Pro, today. It was packaged well, arrived quickly and in perfect condition. This is a really nice guitar. Sounded great, and played like butter, right out of the box! I was slightly disappointed, because I thought it came with Grover tuners. These tuners are fine, but I prefer metal keys, to plastic. Overall, I’m very happy with this guitar.

We'll worth the money if your on a budget.

Product Review

Epiphone she 400 pro is we'll made. Coil taping and just quality that epiphone is putting out in some cases is a lot better then the higher priced guitars I like them so much that I have seven epiphone s and one Gibson and the epiphone seems to be made better definitely sounds better then my Gibson and the prices are are more reasonable if your on a tight budget don't get me wrong I still like the Gibson brands as well I would recommend the epiphone s if you're on budget and can't really afford a Gibson or higher end guitar to me they are both great really the only difference is price in my opinion.

Could have been looked over better

Product Review

I've already sent it back right after receiving it the first time , and after getting the replacement #2 it had had a Jack plug nut almost to the point of coming off , but not a deal breaker. No gig bag that I thought should have been included after the first replacement since it was offered ? It does feel and sound like I remember in the 60's but come on now 2 different issues with this one ? Now I'm taking it to be setup professionally!!!

Mighty fine SG

Product Review

I think I will start by mentioning that this guitar arrived two days early, well packaged, and fully intact. First impression upon unboxing was the overall quality of everything. The color pretty much blew my face off. I think it may be a tad more silver than the traditional Pelham Blue, but I'm no expert on that. If I had to rate it just on appearance I would have to say the thing is off the charts. Fretboard was a lighter color than I expected, but this added a nice contrast to the body color. The neck profile was flat and slim, without any extra amount of flex. No burrs on the fret wires. Smooth. The guitar also arrived well set up. No fret buzz and the action was a good height. There was a good amount of sustain without even being plugged in. Plugged into my amp and pedalboard, everything was just fine. Good reaction with effects with the exception of slightly weaker sound when engaging the coil splitting feature, but overall this guitar meets and exceeds my needs.

Product Review

If you like the tony iommi model but don’t have the cash get this model it’s better it’s a pro model at half the cost and a lot cheaper than Gibson g 400 but it’s still a solid guitar sg !

Great Guitar

Product Review

The quality of the guitar is excellent, a little disappointed that the free Gig bag that it said came with it as a rebate never came and was no longer on their web page so they didn't honor it. But love the guitar.
