Product Description

Epiphone Masterbilt DR500MCE Acoustic Electric Guitar combines traditional construction methods and historic features with premium all solid tone woods to bring you a new ‘vintage’ instrument with deep rich lows, shimmering highs and a balanced mid-range. Featuring a solid Sitka Spruce top, hand-scalloped Sitka Spruce braces, and mahogany kerfing along with a rosewood bridge and bone saddle, the DR500MCE's historic dreadnought shape with a spectacular cutaway also contributes to its great tone.

The Masterbilt DR500MCE also has a solid mahogany back and sides, which adds to the guitar's legendary tone as well as a hand-shaped solid mahogany neck. The 25.5 inch scale mahogany neck joins the body at the 14th fret and is adorned with split-diamond pearl fretboard inlays. The ‘off-set’ headstock has a ‘stickpin’ headstock inlay along with a 1.68 inch bone nut.

The Epiphone Masterbilt DR500MCE Acoustic Electric Guitar comes alive when plugged-in, thanks to the eSonic2 preamp system. The Sonic2 preamp features a built-in, easy-to-use tuner. Other controls on this state-of-the-art preamp include Master Volume, NanoFlex Tone, NanoMag Tone, stereo blend, low battery indicator and a phase switch to help eliminate unwanted feedback.

Nice!!!
Product Rating

Product Review

Being used to my beloved Ovation, this Epi is really doing it’s job. Smooth bass response and good volume, which was a must to me. I hate low volume acoustics. Plays comfortably! Tuner is a plus, very accurate too! For the price, could not be happier! Oh, sunburst has been my favorite color and this one is gorgeous!

Great Tone

Product Review

I've been playing for over 45 years and I have finally found the tone that I've been searching for. High tones not too "tingy"; solid mid's; and incredible bass notes. As a professional touring musician, I highly recommend this instrument. EQ is also incredible.

what a nice guitar

Product Review

i am a fairly new guitar player and not very good as of yet. i bought this guitar to replace the pawnshop special i bought to see if i was willing to do the practise needed to learn to play. i have to tell you that i am blown away at the overall fit and finish of the guitar i recieved. i can find no build or finish flaws in this guitar. i have had several friends with extensive guitar backgrounds look it over for me as well. they were shocked to find out it is made from solid wood ,(no laminate or plywood),the fretboard was plekd at the factory and was sold for as reasonable a price as this. they both said they had no idea epiphone was turning out acoustic guitars this nice. the sound is very good and is bound to keep getting better over time i am told and the set up is very good and easy to play. the onboard tuner works well and the electronics work but i cant say as to the quality of the electronics as i have little knowledge of how they work or should sound compared to others. i do feel they are a bit gimmicky with the two output jacks and not sure you need them but there is a distinct difference in the sound of the two pickups and you can blend them with the controls and or run them to seperate amps through the 2 output jacks. a more professional player may be able to get some unique sounds from this set up. the only problem i have had is very minor, one of the control knobs on the electronics panel is very stiff. it feels as if the rubber cover on the knob is caught between the plate and knob shaft. sorry for the long review but overall i couldnt be happier with this thing. i really wanted a martin but couldnt see paying several hundred $ more for a laminate guitar. if you can find one of these in a guitar store near you, pick it up and play it. i think you will be surprised. it may not be the guitar you ultimately buy but for the money you will not find a better guitar. by the way my guitar was made in indonesia not china. they are built in both countries.

Incredible Sound

Product Review

I have owned this guitar for 2 years - I play professionally. I have had to repair the wiring, replace the end pin, change the saddle, and replace (warranty) the preamp, and level the frets. That said, it still gets 4 stars for the plugged in sound - it's the best sounding guitar plugged into a mixer that I have even played - period. The 2 inputs are a gimmick you'll never use, but the Shadow system and solid top produce the best, most acoustic sound you'll find.
