    Product Description

A gorgeous guitar that pays tribute to Johnny A! It is beautiful to look at but wait until you play it. Epiphone presents the Ltd. Ed. Johnny A. Custom Outfit, the premier signature archtop by renowned guitarist, singer, and bandleader Johnny A. Featuring Johnny A’s custom double-cutaway design in a Sunset Glow gloss finish, plus Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers, Ebony Fretboard, Bigsby® B70 Vibrato, and hard case.

    Johnny A, Living Legend
For over two decades, Johnny A. has cultivated a reputation as one of rock n’ roll’s supreme guitarists and bandleaders. And his custom archtop, which features a sharp double cutaway along with its unique sound hole design, has made Johnny A. one of the most easily recognized players working today. Now, Epiphone presents Johnny A’s first custom signature archtop for the “House of Stathopoulo” in a beautiful Sunset Glow gloss finish.

Flame Maple Top and Ebony Fretboard
The Ltd. Ed. Johnny A. Custom Outfit features a thinline style semi-hollow Mahogany body with a beautiful Flame Maple top finished in Sunset Glow. The Johnny A. Custom is easily recognized by its double cutaway and features modern non-script “f-holes” with a matching black pickguard. The body of the Johnny A. has 5-layer white and black (pure white/black) on the top and 3-play binding on the back. The Mahogany neck has a Custom “C” profile with 3-ply pure white and black binding. The Ebony fretboard includes Johnny’s unique pearloid inlay and has a 12” radius with 22 medium frets and 1.69” nut. The bound headstock has an Epiphone logo in pearloid along with a custom "Johnny A." in pearloid.

    Gibson 57TM Classic Humbuckers
The Ltd. Ed. Johnny A. Custom Outfit is powered by Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers, which are based on Gibson’s legendary hand-wound “Les Paul Standard” humbuckers from the late 50s. Today, those rare pickups are recognized by collectors by the black “Patent Applied For” sticker on the back, applied at the factory. Today’s new Gibson 57TM Classic humbuckers are made with the same Alnico II magnets as the originals (plus a reproduction of the “Patent Applied For” sticker!) and are wax potted to keep down noise and feedback at high-volume. Gibson 57s also include vintage style enamel-coated wire, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, and 2-conductor braided wiring for a complete vintage experience without the vintage price tag. Controls for the Johnny A. are standard Volume and Tone pots for each pickup with Gold "top hat" knobs with metal pointers.

Bigsby® B70 Vibrato and Solid Epiphone Hardware
The Johnny A. Custom features Epiphone’s legendary rock solid hardware including an ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge and a classic Bigsby® B70 Vibrato along with gold nickel hardware, an Epiphone Heavy-Duty Epiphone 1/4" output jack with an all-metal jack plate, gold pickup covers, and Epiphone "Deluxe" machine heads with a 18:1 ratio. A hard case is included.

    Lifetime Guarantee
The Ltd. Ed. Johnny A. Custom Outfit comes with Epiphone’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson 365/24/7 Custom Service

    Exceptional tones and stunning looks!

What is your opinion of this product?
My first brand new guitar joins the family. Unboxing on a beautiful day... the Sunset Glow Gloss finish blazed in the sun. Brilliant gold appointments stand out. The Johnny A custom fretboard inlays accent the butter smooth ebony. This is my first Bigsby and with its wrap around (and under) tailpiece and is really solid. The hollow body and the Gibson USA 57s make wide ranges of tones possible. I did not get feedback as I feared with the true hollow body. All in all, this is an exceptional ax. As a friend said about my wife's comment about all the bling - every guitar player needs a full dress guitar! Rock on! - Rocket

    Absolutely love it
What is your opinion of this product?
Surprisingly easy to play, the guitar fits me well. Body is easy to grip and out of the way. Bigsby stays in tune once you break it in a little. The more I play, the more I love it. Loud unplugged. Very cool old school archtop sound

Really Disappointed with Gibson Nashville's Inspection of this and 2 other versions (not from AMS)
What is your opinion of this product?
Finish was unacceptable due to binding cracks/red paint defects. With low action, neck was dead at higher notes. Ded-Ex broke the neck on the 3rd one. Chinese Epiphones are not comparable to Japanese Epiphones. Gonna sell my car to get a Gibson.

Excellant value and well worth every penny
What is your opinion of this product?
I own a Gibson Custom Shop Johnny A and have wanted one for my son too, but couldn't justify paying that much for a young player. The Epiphone Johnny A Custom is in my opinion every bit as good as the Gibson Johnny A Standard and not that far from the Custom Shop model. The Bigsby is the licensed model and the pots are probably different, but the Pick-ups, feel, finish and playability is all spot on! I like it so much that I have decided to buy a second one for me. I don't need it, but why not at this price point!

    A lot better than expected
What is your opinion of this product?
Only complaint I have is the volume pots need to be upgraded...they didn't control the volume throughout the full range. Pretty much the same volume until you get to about 2 and then it cuts out completely. Tone knobs were perfect throughout. I will be changing the bridge to a roller type. Perfect finish, Gibson pickups, loud acoustically, strong across all three switch positions, excellent fret-work, nothing about it feels 'cheap', an awesome case... Knowing what I know now, I wish I could have bought two of these guitars. It's that good.
