Everything a USA Strat should be!
What is your opinion of this product?
Everything a USA Stratocaster should be with a shout out to Southern California and Texas. Clarity in the high octave is impeccable. Simplicity in rare ripping form and a delight for the senses. I own 8 other high-end American builds. The 2017 Fender USA Stratocaster American Special sets a high standard for quality and value unmatched by its rivals.

    Fairly Disappointing
What is your opinion of this product?
Honestly was excited to get this in. When it arrived, the feel of the instrument was really sub par. I have owned american made instruments on the higher end from Gibson and Fender as well as some Mexican made fenders. IMHO, the Mexican instruments are a far better value as they are typically less expensive and just as well if not better made. This American Special was a great example. It was horrible all around. To Top it off, I got no sound from the bridge pickup. If you want an american stratocaster, just buy the standard or better yet get the deluxe/elite model. Otherwise, stick with the Mexican line.

    Excellent Value... Solid Guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
I chose the Sonic Blue color and love it. The action is a bit high for my taste but the factory set up is still spot on and this guitar is gig ready right out of the box. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the pick ups and the grease bucket tone circuit which are both subjective. This is my first ride with Texas Specials and I love them except when the volume is fully cranked. They get just a bit too over the top and are borderline too harsh for my taste. That doesn't mean they're bad pups though... just a little too hot on full blast for my playing style. The grease bucket thing is super cool except there is no tone control for the middle pup. The bridge pup has it instead and sounds amazing with the grease bucket thing. But I will have to mod it to get a tone control for the middle. Other than that, This guitar delivers. I love it. Thanks to AMS for great service.

    Perfect Strat!!
What is your opinion of this product?
This is the best Strat I've ever owned...second only to my Rory! First off it's an amazing value! An American Strat for under a $1000. All the best features I want in a Strat: JUMBO FRETS!! I think they should be standard on all Strats because they make the neck infinitely more playable. You can really get your Albert or Stevie on with these frets. The pickups--yeah! Texas Specials...nice and gritty and really drive a tube amp wild. I love the the Sonic Blue matched with the rosewood neck--such a classic color combination. This guitar was set up perfectly right out of the box. The only thing I did was tighten up the Trem screws until the bridge was no longer 'floating'. That is just my personal preference as I don't like to inadvertently change the pitch of the strings with my palm pressure. Bottom line...if you're looking for a quality, easy playing, great sounding Strat then look no further. I would highly recommend you pick one of these up and try it. You wont want to stop playing!!

    I love it!
What is your opinion of this product?
I have been playing for 20+ years and this guitar is perfect. Right out of the. On it was set up the way I like it, great feel and tone. Can't wait to bring it to the next gig. The Texas specials are a step up from any stock pickups, classic tremolo looks great and the rosewood fret board is flawless. Has a nice satin finish so my hands don't stick, smooth and fast neck. Very solid American Strat for the price, she's a keeper!
