Fender American Pro Precision Bass Guitar Features
Precision Equals Power
- Alder body
- Maple neck and fingerboard
- V-Mod Split Single-Coil pickups
- Elite Molded Case included
What could be improved on an already iconic, well-performing instrument? Fender tapped bass pickup guru Michael Bump to work on the new V-Mod split-coil Precision Bass pickup. The V-Mod uses alnico 5 and 2 magnets to create the thunderous warmth the P Bass is known for. The balance is achieved by using alnico 5 on the treble and alnico 2 on the bass side of the pickup. Furthermore, Fender’s Hi-Mass Vintage bridge works in conjunction with the new Fluted-shaft tuning machines to help create a smooth rich sustain. The Fender American Professional Precision Bass Guitar also incorporates Posiflex Graphite support rods into the neck. Posiflex graphite rods add stability to the neck and prevent subtle movements in the wood that affect your tone, all while preserving the longevity of the instrument.
Sound and Playability
Fender’s P Bass has always been known to handle multiple styles of music. Its versatile sound has made it a mainstay on world stages and studios for decades. The American Professional Precision Bass uses the classic ‘63 P Bass neck profile, which is revered by bass players for being one of the most comfortable necks ever made. The low end on the Precision Bass can be punchy and articulate, or warm and airy depending on your taste. Need juicy low end? No problem, the pro P Bass pumps out deep bottom without hesitation. Slide up the neck and the bass rumbles into the higher register with ease thanks to the satin finish on the guitar. The addition of narrow-tall frets improve intonation and provide less resistance when bending strings or trying to vibrato.
It is quite the achievement that the American Professional Precision Bass is Fender’s best sounding P Bass yet!
