What is your opinion of this product?
The brown sunburst finish,I bought, is flawless. The 3 ply pick guard is great and the controls are solid and quiet. The knobs turn freely and do their job. The pickups sound real good and the pole pieces are all flat and not staggered. The (rosewood) neck was a bit disappointing as the fret edges were sharp and I needed to dress them but they feel good after doing that. The neck finish is "matte" almost like it has no finish but it's smooth to play. The tuning keys are good. If I was a parent looking to buy a good starter guitar at a decent price this would be it. The sharp fret edges I encountered may not be typical. All in all a very lovely little guitar. I'm having fun with it anyways !

Great Bang For The Buck ! Very Underrated Guitar !
What is your opinion of this product?
I had some extra money so I decided to go out and buy one of these a couple of days ago and I made sure I got the Lake Placid Blue Finish which has always been a favorite color of mine. Squier has upped their game with these newer Affinity models folks. Besides adding a Golden hue to the Squier name on the headstock, you now also get a 3 ply pick guard which the older models lacked and IMO, looked cheap as well. These do not need any modifications at all once they are set up properly. They sound just as good as any MIM Fender Standard Strat although you might want to do what I did and that is to install a Orange Drop cap on the tone pots. Other than that, the rest of the guitar is all stock and is staying that way. I just used it at a gig last night with my band and it passed with flying colors. So if you're a beginner or on a low budget , I highly recommend this guitar.
