Product Description

In the late 60s Fender introduced what many refer to the ‘silverface’ models. The Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Guitar Combo Amplifier is a reissue of those great amps that provides that same great punchy tone with some exciting new features for today’s players! Both channels boast reverb and tremolo, and the Custom channel has a modified Bassman tone stack that gives modern players greater tonal flexibility with pedals. A quicker gain onset and reduced negative feedback give the ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb greater touch sensitivity.

Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Guitar Amp Features
  • 22 watts delivered from 2x6V6 power tubes, 4x12AX7 and 2x12AT7 preamp tubes
  • Single 12 inch Celestion G12V-70 speaker delivers a more distinctive rock ‘n’ roll flavor
  • Modified Deluxe Reverb all-tube circuitry

Silverface Deluxe Reverb
1968 was a transitional year for Fender amps, with tone that was still pure Fender but a look that was brand new. With a silver-and-turquoise front panel and classy aluminum drip edge grill cloth trim, the Deluxe Reverb received a fresh new face as it remained the ideal recording and performing amp. Small, light and moderately powered, it produced big tube tone, with world-class Fender reverb and vibrato effects. For countless guitarists ever since, the Deluxe Reverb has been the go-to amp for classic Fender sound.

Not for a live band application what so ever!

Product Review

I kept hearing how good the Fender deluxe reverb was, industry standard, most recorded amp ever. And yes that may be true. I have always used a minimum of 48 watts for live working application. I LOVE fender amps! This amp is a PC Board using cheap parts from China. From the PC board, to the tubes, to the speaker, all madein China. This amp is extremely like an Ice Pick! Anything over volume 3 she starts to distort. It was tolerable with my humbuckers, but my Tele was stinging people. It's not warm, it's brittle. I bought it, used it on 2 shows, and sent it back. Buy the Hot Rod Deluxe its way better and cheaper. This amp is all hype. I gave 3 starts because its light, and looks good. But honestly who cares if it doesn't do the job.

Great tone and loud

Product Review

I only play at home. I don’t gig anymore. I use a lot of pedals. I have the strymon möbius, timeline, big sky, h9, jhs fuzz, archer ikon, ethos overdrive, and some jewelry pedals. I run stereo with a Marshall 20 w head into an orange 2 12 cab. I was using a prs sonzera 20 but it too was loud but muddy at low volumes. The fender has great tone at low volumes. The fender is super loud too but I’m able to get good tone at almost any volume. Bedroom volume is around 2-3. This is not overly chimey and the Bassman tone stack is great. Both channels are very useful. I haven’t put in a lot of time on this but Mayer tones are achievable.

Product Review

Very well proven. I read other reviews on this amp and had to see if it was true what they were saying...now I’m getting other musicians telling me that they love my tones. Extremely happy with it.

"Well worth the money"

Product Review

I chose this amp over the '65 Deluxe Reverb 22 watt because of the use of the reverb and tremolo on both channels. 22 watts is very adequate. The custom channel handles pedals very well. Great sound and tone.

Great Amp!!!! Great Tone

Product Review

Love the tone of this amp. The custome channel is great as well as the vintage channel. I have an ayb pedal that I use to plug into both the custome and vintage channels and then run both channels at once and it take this amp to another level. The Celestion speaker really rocks in this amp and it takes all my pedals great.

A Faithful Amp

Product Review

I have really enjoyed the tones coming from the DR 68' Reissue. This amp has so much vibe and mojo to it. Hard to believe it was a recently produced amp, as it has such a warmth to it. The tone stacks are incredible on the vintage side, and I absolutely love having a bassman tone stack.

Exactly what I expected

Product Review

Love it. Older ( 60s) guitarist played semi-professionally in my younger days. Getting reacquainted with playing again now that kids are grown. Go-to amp back then was Princeton Reverb ( stand alone or miked). I'm a big fan of that Fender sound... and have that and more with the Deluxe Reverb. Can get as soft or loud as I need and I still love that clean Fender tone... I'd buy it again.
