    Desirable Except...
    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
I would have rated these strings with five stars if it weren't for the solid wire G string. I use 11s on my Epiphone ES-339. I have also tried them on my Les Paul. The nickel composition gives me the cool, bluesy sound I'm looking for except for that #18 solid wire G string. The solid G overpowers the other strings to the point where it detracts from the smooth more mellow tones of the other strings. Consequently, I replace the G string with a nickel wound # 20-22 G string which, bring all of the strings to a more consistent level, allowing the entire set sing together.

    Worst Strings Ever!
What is your opinion of this product?
I thought I'd try Gibson strings after years of using GHS Boomers on my Gibson Les Paul. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Gibson makes great guitars, but these strings are the worst. I thought my tuners were slipping it was so bad. I'd have to tune these up ever few minutes which is pathetic. Went back to GHS Boomers and problem solved. No tuning issues and just enjoy playing. Go figure.
